Hi,
I am pretty sure I have IC but haven't been diagnosed yet. I have frequent non-stop urge to urinate, I don't have UTI(been checked twice for this). My problem is I can't find anything to eat that doesn't make me sick to my stomach. I drink alot of milk and vanilla shakes and that's it. I read the IC list but I'm still not sure what I can have. Can I get someone's input as to what they eat daily. Is purified water from the refrigerator okay to drink? Please help, I am so sick-it feels like my stomach is on fire. Thanks! Sue

It sounds like you may have other things going on with you if you can't tolerate food. I hope you have an appointment with your doctor.

Here's a sample of what I might eat in a day:

Breakfast: One of the following: Oatmeal, cold cereal, an egg.
One piece toast
Midmorning: Small pear or crackers or sometimes a piece of toast
Lunch: Usually a sandwich.
Mid-afternoon: I buy 100-calorie snack packs for afternoon snacks.
Dinner: Usually some kind of meat, chicken, fish, etc.
A vegetable
Small serving of potato or some rice.
Small dish of ice cream.

I have to do the snacks because I'm diabetic and need to keep my blood sugar level.

Thanks Donna for the info. Now I'm wondering if my stomach hurts from taking Vesicare - that's one of the side effects. I did eat a small piece of pumpkin pie and felt a little better. I haven't eaten anything solid in over a week because I'm not sure what I can eat. So thanks for your help.

Sue,

I'm really diet sensitive and can only drink Poland Springs bottled water. I stick to the usually OK column on the IC diet. Here's a sample day for me:

Breakfast - egg sandwich on homemade bread (I can't tolerate preservatives) or grilled cheese with mozarella cheese
Lunch - Pasta w/broccoli
Dinner - Chicken breast, baked potato and any vegetable
Snacks - raw organic pumpkin seeds, homemade granola, pear

When I have a flare I usually just eat plain rice for a day or two and it helps. Boring but it does help. I don't eat any processed food. Following the diet has just about eliminated my frequency problems.

You should further check out your stomach problem because that's not a usual IC symptom from what I know. I have IBS and a lot of us do with IC so I know I get stomach/intestinal pain from that.

Good luck...My name is Sue too.
