I am wanting to have another child. My IC started after I had my first baby which is now three. I am wanting another child but know I have to get healthy first. Just wondering if anyone has in experiences to share....thanks!

You might get more replies if you post in the pregnancy part of the forums. I have a five year old and would love another child. But complications with the pregnancy, not related to IC, prevents that.

I hope everything works out for you! Children are such a joy.......:)

Yes me! I have no children but I had a miscarriage in '06. My short stint with pregnancy was pretty scary because I was very sick and have had increased health issues ever since. From what I've read, many women go into remission with pregnancy. I am in somewhat of a remission now so I fear getting pregnant will flare me again. Have you talked to your drs about this?

I do want to get pregnant again, but I'm scared to go through all the pain and misery again. My IC symptoms began during the first month of my pregnancy. The symptoms were very severe during the first trimester and got somewhat better during the second and third trimesters. My symptoms have started to improve the past month now that I'm taking meds (coincidence or meds? I don't know). I do wonder how I would take care of my daughter (she's 7 months old now) while pregnant if I am that sick again.

Hi there,

I had a similar question. I've also heard that ic symptoms can go into remission during pregnancy so I'm willing to give it a go again! I'm going to talk to my UroGyn on the 10th. I was diagnosed July '07 and have been pretty much symptom free (with a few flares here and there) since August when we figured out that my ic was hormone related.

I'm nervous about going off the bc pills again, but am excited for a chance to go into remission. I figure if I lived with ic without knowing that i had it for months I can do it again for a while. I think we're going to start trying at the end of this month so I'll let you know how it goes.
