Does ic interfere?

Does IC interfere with getting pg? It seems like everytime I want to try, i get an infection which is really becoming bothersome.

How do you overcome it? What happens if I go on med's?

IC interferes with getting pregnant only in that some IC'ers find sex to be painful so they 'try' less often. There is no evidence that IC causes infertility.

Are you prone to infections after sex? If so, talk with your doc about it. There are some things you can do to help prevent them like emptying your bladder right before and right after sex, and using a squirt bottle filled with water to flush away any bacteria from your urethra (squirt front to back, wipe front to back). Some women get infections after sex no matter what they do to try and prevent them so antibiotics can be prescribed too. Communicate with your doc!

IC never interfered with me getting pregnant. It only took one try both times smile.gif

Didn't with me biggrin.gif got pregnant on my first child first time out and with my 2nd when there was a 95% chance that I would never beable to conceive again!

The last 2 flare ups have been just as I was ovulating so I was put on antibotics. It made it hard to even want to.
