Can anyone tell me about this. I am having some serious issues with my throat down at the base where it connects to my neck. I feel like I have reflux and it hurts. I am also belching a lot. I know many ICers have GERD so I am wondering if this is my trouble as well. I really can't handle much more. -Vicki

I went through a bad episode of GERD and was given Prevacid and I also raised the head of my bed so that I was a little elevated. I put blocks under my headboard. It did help get it under control. Hope you get well soon.
Do you still have your Gallbladder? Both of the symptons, especially the belching can be signs of trouble with your gallbladder.

I have GERD. I burned out my esopsegus (sp) in my younger years :(
I am on the prescription Protronix (1xday) probably for the rest of my life. Prelief helps too.
I am on Protonix (sp) too! It is a awesome drug!!!

You should see your doctor, of course, but it could be GERD. The good news is that GERD is very treatable, and most people have excellent outcomes.
Gallbladder disease is usually accompanied by pain in the stomach and often in the area of the shoulder blades, but like any disease it can present in different ways. I'm sure your doctor will be able to help you.
Please don't be too upset! GERD really is extremely treatable, especially if it's caught early.
Good luck, keep us posted.
