Help!!! Problem with Vesicare

I was diagnosed about 4 months ago. My doctor subscribed Vesicare and I have been taking it for about 3 months. It works great for the bladder problems but I am having a horrible time with constipation. I already had issues and the Vesicare has made it so much worse. I am to the point now that I am hardly going at all. I stopped the Vesicare 4 days ago and am still having problems and now my bladder is bothering me again. I have tried laxatives, stool softeners, prunes, raw vegetables, lots of water, everything I could think of. I was hoping that I could get my system straightened out and get back on the Vesicare and continue with some type of therapy for the constipation. I left a message for my doctor but am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what you would suggest for it.

Hi Peggy -

I am sorry to hear you are having issues! There are many OAB medicines out there that are similar to Vesicare. Maybe your doctor will give you a different medicine that you can tolerate.

I have never taken Vesicare but I do have issues with constipation. I use Miralax for that and it works really well and it does not cramp your stomach. It is over the counter and in the same section with the other stool softners and laxatives. I also agree that you need to check with your doctor. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon :)
