Hi everyone!
I have been reading all the posts on this site for the last year, but I've never posted before so I figured it was about time!
I have had IC for about 5 years, and was finally diagnosed last February. I was going to the ER every 6 months or so and was misdiagnosed every time. I had frequency/urgency, leakage, and extreme pain. Finally, one ER doc had just gotten back from a conference where they talked about IC, and he recommended I go to a urologist. The first uro I went to was just awful. I was missing so much work and asked for him to fill out the forms for my HR department to tell them why I could not work, and he flat out told me that my pain is not that bad and I should go to work anyway. Like he could tell me how bad my pain was! :cussing:
I found another uro who is so much better. With her help, I was able to go into remission for most of this year. Now I am in a flare again, although I have no idea what is causing it.
Just thought I would introduce myself! You all have given me a safe place to go and find out more about this disease, and I appreciate it! This board is full of wonderful people and I am so glad I found it.
