Hi everyone!

I have been reading all the posts on this site for the last year, but I've never posted before so I figured it was about time!:angel:

I have had IC for about 5 years, and was finally diagnosed last February. I was going to the ER every 6 months or so and was misdiagnosed every time. I had frequency/urgency, leakage, and extreme pain. Finally, one ER doc had just gotten back from a conference where they talked about IC, and he recommended I go to a urologist. The first uro I went to was just awful. I was missing so much work and asked for him to fill out the forms for my HR department to tell them why I could not work, and he flat out told me that my pain is not that bad and I should go to work anyway. Like he could tell me how bad my pain was! :cussing:

I found another uro who is so much better. With her help, I was able to go into remission for most of this year. Now I am in a flare again, although I have no idea what is causing it. :confused:

Just thought I would introduce myself! You all have given me a safe place to go and find out more about this disease, and I appreciate it! This board is full of wonderful people and I am so glad I found it.

:welcome: I am so glad you came out of the Shadow Lands. It took me about a year to begin to post.

Finding a good uro is so important and I am glad that you have done that. I hope this flare goes away very soon and you begin to feel better.

Hi There! Welcome to the Boards. It took me about six months to post too! I was in a lot of denial and thought, "Oh, my IC is not nearly as bad as these women and it doesn't affect my life like that". Well....:loco: was I wrong.

Anyway...What part of Colorado are you from? I am in Grand Junctio, however I travel to Denver twice a month for work and both my Uro and Pain Management Doc are there. We are having a meeting on December 6th in Southeast Denver and would love for you to come. It is our first meeting!

I am such a dork!:loco: Actually, I am just really tired, long week/weekend. Anyway, not an excuse just a reason!

Right after I sent the email, I thought boy that name sounds familar. Ugh! I think the meeting sounds really fun! I am going to send everyone an email with everyone else's info, input for the agenda, meeting place, etc. I am really looking forward to it!

I thought it would be fun to have a big pj party! I mean, I thought we could all where comfory clothes, eat IC friendly food, etc. I have the perfect place to have it and nobody will have to clean up. The one thing I want is for everyone to be comfortable!
