Does anyone use a salt substitute? Which one are you using?

Please check with your doctor before trying the salt substitutes. I was told they aren't okay. You might try something like Mrs. Dash instead of salt if you're trying to cut down. Do you have high blood pressure? That's usually the reason to reduce salt intake.

Yep, I am with Donna - Mrs Dash can be a wonderful thing, lol. My mom is on kidney dialysis and has to really limit sodium, etc. So, Mrs. Dash (and there are tons of flavors) is very popular around our house, lol. And one of my mom's doc's told her (before she was actually on dialysis) if she just HAD to have a bit of salt, to use a little bit of Kosher. The shape of the flakes give you the salt flavor without needing to use too much - there's more surface area to them, so it seems like more than if you use salt that has a more roundish shape like regular table salt and some sea salts. ;)

I was going to reduce my salt intake to see if it helps with the bladder symptoms because I read it can help. I have used mortons light salt and the salt substitute but havent in a while. I just wanted to know if I could use them instead of regular salt. I dont know what to use. I dont have any issues. I just used to use it to help with weight loss and water retention. It also helps me with asthma to have a lower sodium diet.

So you all do okay with Mrs. Dash? I am excited! I have some of those. I have been having a hard time figuring out what spices to use.
