I am so limited on what I can eat. I just had egg taken off my diet. I have lost 30 lbs and I was a size 6 to start. Since taking vitamins etc cant be done, has anyone tried a B 12 shot? I am so depleted. Any ideas? The only things left on my diet are things made from organic rice, organic chicken, organic veal.

If you are able to eat meat, you really don't need B12. You can get a sublingual B12. I get one from Walmart's. My internist found that I was B12 deficient and put me on B12 shots and sublingual (best oral form she said). It has been 6 months and they are rechecking my B12 levels. If you are concerned, get your serum B12 and MMA levels checked. But honestly, if you are a vegetarian and don't take your vitamins, then you might be worried, but you won't get B12 deficient quickly. I think my professor said the body stores B12 for YEARS. So, someone that has pernicious anemia (where they cannot absorb B12 at all), their B12 levels will drop a lot faster than a normal person not taking a multivitamin.
I hope this helped! Always express your concerns with your doctor!

I'm eating as much as I can of what I can safely eat and have still lost 30lbs. I started out a size 6. I also have been through e coli that surfaced from dehydration necessary for some tests. Now they tell me my blood tests in the 99 percentile for arsenic. They are worried about my other organs. Just really depleted. Wish we could do ensure or something like that.

Do you know how low your B12 is? Mine is 300 and my doctor told me to take a supplement because it's not low enough to need a shot but I'm questioning that. I'm really diet sensitive and lost weight this spring when I first started the diet. I'm thin too and have had people ask if I'm anorexic. I struggle with the diet and push myself to eat meat because I know my body needs it. Lately I've been eating organic pumpkin seeds from the health food store and really like them. They have healthy fat in them and are a great snack to get me through the day. Hope you're feeling better.

My B12 was in the 200's. My internist said to do shots or massive oral doses of B12 sublingual. I opted for the shots because it will up the B12 faster than orally. I also took an oral supplement in that time. I was on shots and sublingual B12 for 4 months and my B12 only got up to 380. It was surprising that my B12 didn't go up higher with all that supplementation. I just got blood work last week, so I should find out next week how my B12 is doing. The shots are not bad, but you can tell your internist that you cannot tolerate oral B12 due to IC. Maybe he/she will give you the script for B12 injections?

They have never told me the number. I'll ask. I had tried plain organic almonds. I know I'm not allergic to them but they still hurt. I am just recovering from trying a few bites of zuchinni. I was never much of a meat eater but have to be now too. Thanks for the tip. I'm going to try the pumpkin seeds. Also went to a new guy and he looked at my tongue which is white coated and he is treating me for fungus. We'll see.

enip...I buy organic raw Chinese pumpkin seeds in the refrigerated section of my health food store and they don't bother my bladder. There are probably other types and I wanted to let you know the kind that works for me.
Also, after seeing my B12 was low I was referred to a gastroenterologist to see if there's an underlying problem causing it. I'm having a hydrogen breath test for small intestine bacterial overgrowth and being tested for Celiac disease. My doctor said these two conditions can deplete B12. I'm praying I don't have Celiac disease because then I can't have regular bread. I learned to bake my own and love it. The IC diet is tough enough. Going gluten free would be a real challenge.

My guy says the fungus is in my intestines. I don't eat wheat or gluten. It is tough. I just can't stop the weight slide. I was trying some bread from the freezer section of Wild Oats that is made out of corn. I had to stop that because I tested positive for yeast, both bakers and brewers. That was a disappointment

enip...I didn't know you could get fungus in your intestines. How did they diagnose that? Have you tried Ezekial bread? I don't think there's any yeast in it. I found it in the frozen section of my grocery store. I didn't like the taste of it but have heard others who love it. I'm a picky eater and that's made it harder to me to maintain my weight. I force myself to eat because many days food doesn't appeal to me or at least the food I know is safe to eat doesn't sound good. My husband told me a few months ago he was afraid to hug me because I felt like a skeleton that would break. I think of that comment when I don't feel like eating and eat anyway.

He said I had yeast (fungus) because my tongue looked white. I am back on percocet from his supplements I have tried so far. Has anyone esle out there been diagnosed with super high arsenic levels? He gave me arsenicum album 12 x which I thought was to help with the arsenic but it is for gastro issues and contains arsenic and read to be careful with it! The nystatin is in suspension. I have read other ic people take the pills. The suspension is loaded with sugar which I told him was a total no for me. Then he gave me Pleo Fort to rub on my skin which is from penicillium chrysogenium. I'm allergic to penicillin! Also gave me coenzyme and belladonna compsitum and magnesium glycinate. They want me on Estriol cream for my urethral involvement which I have also already tried 4 times, all compounded, all made me worse. He wants me on progestrone and testosterone.
I can't have wheat or gluetin either. Does Ezekeal bread have that? I don't like any of the things I can eat. I eat as much as I can and am still losing at least a half pound a week.

Some of the Ezekiel bread is yeast and gluten free. Their website is foodforlife.com and you can see all their products. I've never known anyone who had high arsenic levels so I don't know what to say about that.

Thank you. I'll check it out. Have so few things I can eat. Something new would be great. My daughter couldn't find the chinese pumpkin seeds. She got plain ones out of the bulk area. They look kind of green. Not like the white ones I remember from getting them as a kid. What do you think? Right now I not in good enough shape to experiment. Maybe in a few days.

Yes, my pumpkin seeds are green too. I read in a book how they're a good food for IC but the look of them kinda scared me at first. They're not too bad though. There are definitely other foods I'd rather eat but what are we going to do.
