Well, I survived the colonoscopy!!!! The prep of course was not fun. I did the Osmo-Prep pills. It was much better than the liquid prep I had years ago. I was VERY bloated from drinking so much water in such a short period of time and almost threw up a couple of times, but overall it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I have a very twisted colon. Seven years ago, the doctor could not get through the last curve so I had to go for a barium enema the following day...YUCK! This time he used a pediatric scope and a lot of lubricant. He had a very rough time around the same curve again but managed to get through it. He told me I had a lot of bruising and irritation from working so hard to get through it. Anyway, he found nothing. He is assuming that the blood I had in my stool was from a fissure that must have now healed. He found no polyps or colitis, etc. I was very relieved. However, when I got home I had terrible cramps...felt like diarrhea cramps. Every time I'd sit on the toilet, I'd pass a glob of very bloody mucus. I did this for 12 hours. I called the office and he told me the blood was from the irritation he created in the curved area of my colon. After taking some Tylenol, the pain subsided and I slept through the night. When I woke up this morning, my belly started grumbling and cramping again. I was able to sit on the toilet and relieve myself some more (no more blood) but I'm still cramping on and off. Did anyone else ever experience this before? I had to call off of work again today!!!! I think I may call the doctor in a little while if this does not subside. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your experience.
Colonoscopy can be so overwhelming. You are very brave.

I did not have blood afterward and he also couldn't go very far.
Thanks to this damn multiples curves my anatomy is made of lol
He manage to scope 60cm and i was in so MUCH PAIN!!!

I did something stupid by going to work after my colonoscopy.
Even with a breakfast,i got severe hypoglycema before lunch time.
So traumatic events and he dosen't even found anything wrong.:cussing:

I can offer no experience with the Colonoscopy. Just wanted to say I hope you start feeling better soon. I am sure that doing the colonoscopy can be scary and I know from what others say the prep work is maybe the worst part for some. Although it sounds as the prep and the after were pretty bad for you. Anyways hope you start feeling better soon:pray:

I get those heinous cramps as part of my whole IBS expereince. Ugh....if they're really bad I take 1/2 or 1 vicodin (or whatever I have on hand from past surgeries...I can't get pain meds for IC or IBS...but that's another story.)

I dissolve it under my tongue and it works pretty good. I'm sure your gut will calm down--Its prolly all *angry* from somone poking at it.
just try and eat *safe* foods.

Hope you feel better soon! :hi:
