Looking forward to reading the replies and learning lots of things. :)
Wonderful! Thanks all who made this possible! I was just telling my husband that when we get back from vacation on the 30th, I am going to do a menu for 5 days of the week so I can stay on track through the holidays. This will really help.
I ordered the cookbook off the site and will start posting my favorites with a twist. I like to take a receipe and personalize it. Seems to work good.
If anyone has not tried the Pumpkins scone mix from the ICN store, I highly recommend it! Super easy and everyone in the family loved them!

I love cookbooks. Everytime we go anywhere out of town, I buy a cookbook. It has become a family joke since I don't seem to ever use them. I promise them I will start cooking again someday. I fix a great turkey, so they have that to look forward to!

I don't know if this was intended for thoughts about the IC diet or actual recipes. I think there should be a better setup for finding recipes...either that or all of us, including myself, should get around to posting more recipes. Anyway, I am looking for recipe that I thought was posted on this site years ago for an alternative to coffee that you make yourself. I seem to remember it had nuts, wheat, and barley in it. There may have been other things, but like I said, I'm looking for the recipe. In the spirit of sharing I will also post the recipe I use for taco meat.
Taco meat/Chili
1.5 lbs Lean Ground Turkey or Chicken
1 sm. sweet onion, diced (optional)
1-2 Tbls prefered cooking oil
garlic to taste, 1/4 tsp minced clove
1 sm. can green chilies, optional
~2 tsp. Cumin powder
~2 tsp. Chili powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Dash of Cayanne pepper (ground Red Pepper-optional) for added kick
Heat oil in skillet, add onions, cook til tender. Add spices to the onions and mix it in with the oil for 30 sec. to a minute before adding meat. You can use less cumin and chili powder if you do it this way because the oil really helps release the flavors a lot better. You can also add a small can of green chilies at this point if you are tolerant. Salt, pepper and sometimes when I have been symptom free for a while Cayanne, but I have the help of Prelief for that. Add some water, stir and let simmer at least 30 min. on low heat, covered. For tacos I remove the lid at the end to cook off excess water and chili I add more water and beans. Serve with cheese of choice, lettuce, tortillas, and anything else you like that you can tolerate.

I think it would be a good idea to just have one recipe per thread, with the title specific to that recipe, instead of multiple recipes in a thread, that way, they are easier to find? Just a thought
