So I have not been diagnosed yet. Set to see my uro at the end of the month to have the PST test done if necessarry. He doesnt think I have IC. Was sent to a PFD doc and he thinks I have that and not IC. He also sent me to a gastro doc to have a colonoscopy (which I am having tomorrow) because I told him of all the gurgles and gas I am having. Plus alot of my pain is on the left side which is sometimes colon related.

My problem is...on Thursday I woke up and had to pee and have a bowel movement. Within a minute or so of going I had the most EXCRUCIATING pain in my lower pelvis/pubic bone. Intense cramping that came in spasms. I couldnt move for a good 10 minutes the pain was so bad. Then it went away and I felt fine all day. Friday and Saturday I was fine. This morning woke up and pee'd with no problem. About 2 hours later had a bowel movement (and pee'd with it) and the pain returned. Once again...it lasted for about 10 minutes then went away and I have felt fine since.I had no burning before, during or after urinating either like I thought I would have if it was bladder or a UTI.

What could be causing this pain? Maybe IBS? Is this typical of IC? Would the pain in IC just come and go away like that? I havent had urgency or frequency for days. I have been drinking the preparation fluid for the colonoscopy all day today and maybe had to pee once. I even had sex the other night in missionary (which was not possible for some time) and not a hint of pain at all. Very strange. So I don't know what's going on that I am getting these pains in the morning and then fine all day. Any help would be appreciated!

Sorry I can't be of more help, but my GP told me that IBS can cause pain on the left side like you described. I don't have IBS. Best wishes. I hope the colonoscopy will shed some light on what's going on. :grouphug:
My IC and vulvodynia symptoms can come and go within a matter of seconds...that's not unusual...and IBS does often accompany IC. Also you might want to do some research and ask your doctor more about Pelvic Floor Dysfunction...it is also common to have that along with IC, or just by itself.
Are you diet sensitive? Have you tried the IC elimination diet? That could give you an idea if you are dealing with IC...not all, but most of us with IC have at least some diet triggers.
Best wishes:)

I really don't know a whole lot about IBS or PFD (just what I read) but I do know that I have had some pretty strong cramping in the colon before, during and after a BM. It comes and it goes. The best part is that it goes. I have always thought it was caused by the process of emptying the Colon. I really don't know if your symptoms are from the Colon or the Bladder since both were used each time you had the pain. I think it would be something you can ask the doctor.

I hope the Colonoscopy answers some questions. Let us know how you do.

BTW...Just wanted to sneak in a comment about "the other night". *Thumbs Up*

I don't have any idea what you might have going on. Hopefully your doctors will find your problem soon. I know you must be frustrated.

Warm healing thoughts,
