long journey

Well I got in to see the wonderful Dr. Raz! He is an extremely generous man with his time and is so wonderful to work with. God put him in my healing path.
Well Dr Raz wanted to try Interstim for a few days prior to agreeing to removing my bladder. Thank God that he insists on a pelvic MRI prior to attempting Interstim... as it turns out I am missing my posterior sacrum bone! Evidently a congenital disease and one that would cause the pain that I am experiencing. The scar tissue that I have, that has been mimicing IC is from my body not telling me that I was having UTI's... is Dr Raz's best guess - with this bone missing my spinal cord is unprotected and not functioning correctly. At this point it is evidently "bulging" at this point and has slipped down. Dr. Raz's insistance on due diligence found my true issue! He did find that along with the scar tissue that I do indeed have small bladder and said that after the nuerologists he'd love to have me back to enlarge it for me... believe me he's the only one I want touching my bladder! Dr. Kim assisted him and she was wondeful, as well. Jean Davis is great! So folks odds are I won't be hanging around here much once I start my new direction in healing. I want to tell you all that you've been so good to me and I would not have gotten to this point without these boards.
Lesson? Please exhaust every assest available to you! Don't listen to anyone that tells you, you cannot get better and there is many things out there that can cause what you are experiencing and not all Dr's have all the answers (just like the rest of us humans) I was diagnosed by 3 dr's with IC! Fight until there is nothing left to fight!
FYI if you do come to UCLA for medical work ... The Tiverton House is great accomodations! Great staff, wonderful rooms, great sense of community with the other guests. I am on the wi-fi now. It is close to everything UCLA medical and has a shuttle.
