Hi ya,
I just thought I would let you all know that I'm home from hospital and slowley recovering.
The operation went well and there were severe complications just after the op had finished, putting me me in intensive care for 2 weeks fighting for my life.
There was only one bag of blood and I bled very badly, it took the doctors five hours to find more blood, leaving my family frantically worried because at the time the doctors said I was desperatly ill.
I was in a room of my own with my own nurse 24/7.who took very good care of me.
I fell a lot stronger now.
It's all ok now, just means I have now got a very rare blood group group now which will be hard to detect should I need any further surgery in the future.
I am recovering well and slowley getting about, but, the pain is very strong and I am taking some very powerful pain killers.
I don't have much of a appetite these last few days but am keeping up with the fluids.
The mitofanoff and superpubic catheters are stitched in place until I go back in to hospital in 3 weeks to have the removed.
They pull a lot and are sore but I am sure I will live.

I hope everyone is ok and thankyou again for your support.

Love Jill xxxxxxxxxxxx

Thankyou ladies,
It's early days yet, but although I am still slow walking about, and walking up the stairs puts a strain on my stitches, I think if I can get the pain under control, then I will be able to concentrate on my recovery.
I have a nurse coming out everyday to clean my wounds.
And my family are taking very good care of me, especially my hubby,he does' all the washing, cleaning, shopping and helping me to wash etc.
He has been so busy since I came home.
I have been totally pampered.

talk soon
love to all xxxxx:smile tee :grouphug: :flower:

Jill, how wonderful to see you posting again! Hopefully this it now, and as the days go by you will feel better and better. As you said the main thing is to keep on top of the pain and go ever so slowly when doing things. Hang in there, I am thinking good thoughts for you. Hugs, Judith

I was also concerned and prayed you got through the surgery safely. What happened to you was very scary and so relieved that you pulled through. Take it slow get as much rest as you need and take it one day at a time and the healing will gradually happen. I'm sorry for the pain you are in. Try and sleep so you won't feel it as much. I pray that you will have a better life now that the sugery was successful and the previous one was corrected. You are in my thoughts and you are one brave and strong woman.

Thankyou everyone,
Sorry it took me so long to reply, been back in hospital.
I had the catheters taken out, but the superpubic catheter got stuck, the nurse never checked to see if it had a balloon on the end.
I did tell her this but she pulled it and split me open.
My uro surgeon had to put stitches in and now I have a hole the size of a large coin in my groin.
I am on the mend, still taking it slowly and dying to go christmas shopping lol:lmao:
I have not done a thing yet, and prefer to buy presents myself, thank goodness for online shopping girls!!
We get there in the end don't we!
I am listening to Westlife's new cd, my hubby brought it for me as agift with a lovley big bunch of flowers.
So I am resting and doing as I am told hehehe !!
I am having a problem getting the catheters to reach the bottom of my pouch, they only go half way down.
I am a little worried because if I can't empty it totally then I could be prone to infections.
My uro said she will do a scan to check for any problems, she is pleased with my other scans and xrays and said I am healing well inside.

I hope everyone is well!!

love Jill xxx

Jill, good to see you posting again. That's terrible what the nurse did to you! Can you take any course of action? As for getting down to the bottom of your pouch, how long is the catheter? Mine are 16 inches long so they really get in there. I have never had it reach the inside wall as far as I know, I dont think it needs to do that. I hope the scans tell the story. Does the uro have you irrigate it? I am happy you are taking it easy. Thanks for the update:)
