I've started quilting and while I am by no means a great quilter yet, I truly enjoy seeing other people's quilts.

I am a member of our local guild and recently helped out a lot at our bi-annual quilt show. We had over 300 quilts entered this year! The Silent Auction was my area of coordination.

I took a TON of pictures to inspire me for the future. You can see them at www.flicker.com/mvossmer and chick on the set called "2007 HNH Quilt Show)

Guess what I learned at this quilt show??? I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON IN THE US WHO CAN NOT MATCH A POINT!!!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I feel so much better about my quilting now and will post picutres of my first 2 trys at it soon.... maybe tomorrow.

I'm up to 9 or more UFO's (unfinished objects) and have more planned. hehe

I have completed one queen size quilt and have one block done on a second one. And I finally am able to match the points if I'm very careful. :)

Hey Michelle
I haven't been around much lately and was very pleased to see your thread! Yeah!!! I discovered quilting about two years ago and I just love it.
:lmao: I think you are not the only person on the planet who has trouble with points.
The first quilt I ever designed and made was for my nephew and his Canadian bride. It was 12" maple leaf block made from Australiana prints... very clever I thought! :lmao: Anyway, I made all the blocks then trimmed them using a 12" block grrrrrrrrr it wasn't A 12 1/2"...............So when I sewed them together I was the 1/4 " short all round and cut off ALL the points :bonk::bonk::bonk:
My nephew and new niece loved it regardess. I told them to NEVER show anyone :lmao:

P S If you go to my webshots page you can see that quilt and another I made for my neice Peta.
