Dermatitis and I.C.?

I noticed that my I.C. flared up about the same time that I started getting a rash on my hands and in my ears. My doctors say my rash is "non-specific dermatitis" (short for, 'we don't know!')

Has anyone else experienced a flare of I.C. in concurrance with skin outbreaks?

My new Uro is starting me out on Atarax. I'll be curious to see if it helps.

I haven't noticed the two flaring together, but I do have very itchy sensative skin and have heard that is common for IC'ers. I hope that Atarax helps with your flares and your skin issues....

I had eczema most of my life, but it has settled down quite a bit since my mid 20s. I am in my 40s now. I still have a spot of it here and there, but nothing like when I was young. I have not noticed the flares being related. But they are both auto-immune diseases. I never heard that term for eczema in my young years as being an auto immune disease. The last time I had a bad flare with my eczema was in my early 20s and it was behind my ears and on my fingers and was took well over a year to get it under control. Shortly after that (about a year or so, is when my IC started).
