I just recieved my Cystoprotek and Cornsilk in the mail yesterdayy. I have not started them yet, because I have my period and I just want to try it when its over to see how it turns out, because i have heard some people say they recieved relief a few days after beginning the meds.

Was just curious, has anyone tried Cornsilk or Cysto? and how did it work for you?

I haven't heard anything about cornsilk, but if you look through the prior threads in this forum you'll find many, many discussions about cystoprotek.

Hi.

I tried both, and both worked for me. I took the liquid cornsilk and put it under my tongue...it took the stinging and burning right away.

Is there a difference between the cornsilk pills and the liquid as in which one is more effective? I only started the pills 4 days ago. And I think i am flaring now... Im fighting back tears all day because of this awful burning.

I just got the cornsilk pills. Well tea is a irritant for IC... so I would think that would cause more pain for me:(

Where did you buy your cornsilk pills? Wow, I never knew about that.

Sheena if your burning then I would stop the pills. Remember we are all different--the cornsilk might not be the thing for you.

Well.... I am thinking I could be having a flare up because I ate watermelon last week, Lots of milkshakes, and I accidently had some tv dinner with onions i did not realize anddddd work had bought me a cake with chocolate in it and as i said in a different post, i felt so bad i tried to eat around the fudge! haha! AND i also took a hot bath this weekend cause i was stressed....... and i think that may also hurt me. I used to get uti's when i was a kid everytime i took a bath (even if there was no soap involved) weird huh.

Alot of people also sayed they flared from the quercitin in the Cystoprotek.. I dunno what to think!!!! :help:

Bunnykind- I ordered them online.. I cant find the same site i got mine from.. but here is another one, http://www.theherbsplace.com/Cornsilk_p_389.html.

I'm curious how they knew it was the Quercetin that caused the flare?? I just ordered Cystoprotek and from all that I've read (and I spoke to one of the people at Alaven who now handles Cystoprotek), I learned that you should start out slowly, and gradually increase your dose. It might cause an initial flare, but it should get better after that. :)

Well I take 2 pills two times a day with food. thats what the bottle says. Is there a higher dose?

Also, I forgot to mention I just started birth control 4 days ago.

The packet that I received from my doc included a dosage instruction sheet for Cystoprotek (when it was still distributed by Algonot) and it says: day 1: 1 pill, day 2: 1 pill, days 3-7: 2 pills, week 2: 4 pills, week 3 and on: 6 pills UNLESS taking Elmiron and then you only go up to 4 pills max per day. Maybe you can find this online as well! PM me if you want more info for Alaven! :smile tee
