Today, i had a great Doc. visit.. Wahoo!! The doc, who usually doesnt explain anything to me or listne to my symptoms (when i am by myself), listened to me and explained in detail about an IC treatment plan! My dad came with me,(i'm 20 but i look about 14 on a good day, so i think the doc. treats me like i am a child) so i think that with my dad there, the doc. realized to spend time and explain everything. plus both my dad and i were knowledgable and prepared about IC and treatments. But the doc. new a lot about ic and has had many patients with it. I am now officailly off OAB pills and on Elmiron, amitriptyline, and hydroxyzine. I also have the options of trying Instillations (Doctor wanted to see how the pills would work first) Plus my insurance covered all my prescriptions! ( Doc. didnt think it would cover Elmiron) i was also told of long term treatment plans down the road,which was good to hear. i also wanted to thank everyone who gave me advice on looking in the IC handbook (printed that sucker out adn took it with me to doc!) and answered all my questions. U guys have helped a lot, and i just wanted to share some good news!!:smile tee
