Okay, for my diet I need yogurt for meal replacements or a desert. Do you think yogurt would be okay? Please let me know your experience. I would not be using flavored yogurt. Just plain yogurt with live active cultures.

dreamy,
I have seen where some people with IC have problems with yogurt, But then their are others that do just fine. The only way to find out is try a little at first and see how your bladder reacts. Like only a tablespoon.
With just a small amount you see no differance in your bladder or frequency then try a little more and so on..Btw I do fine with vanilla yogurt.

Good luck:angel:

I like vanilla yogurt too! Oh I hope I am able to have it. Its soo good! I need to be able to use it. Maybe Ill do okay with it. I would get the plain yogurt with nothing but yogurt in it lol no extra ingredients. I hope it will be okay!

You might try the yobaby vanilla yogurt, it seems to be one of the mildest with the least acidic ingredients. I can't tolerate any yogurt, but some patients are ok with this one.

I can't tolerate yogurt either. But several people say they can tolerate it. I just wanted to warn you that yogurt, even plain yogurt, is acidic, so only try a small amount to start with.

I eat vanilla and blueberry yogurt. I don't notice a difference when I eat it. I have a lot of pain in general and take pain killers. I don't think I'm as diet sensitive as most. I notice that I can't have tomato, soda, coffee, and some other things though.
Hope it works for you!

As long as I am not flaring, I eat blueberry yogurt. I am also not very diet sensitive except for citrus. It just depends on the day with yogurt for me. I make sure that I drink alot of water if I eat some iffy things.

Right now with my stomach issues yogurt is one of the only things I CAN eat. I've never noticed any problem with the yogurt I eat. I get the custard style of the Yoplait, mostly the vanilla kind, but now they have a peaches and cream kind that hasn't bothered my bladder at all. I also eat the whipped Yoplait sometimes without problem. I think maybe I'm an oddball in the fact that I can eat them so I would start out with a couple bites and see how you do...but these yogurts are so sweet and good they taste like dessert to me!

I eat a yogurt every day. I can eat plain (with honey, granola, or blueberries), I eat Vanilla, and Blueberry. So far so good!
