Is anyone currently taking or has anyone taken lupron shots for endometriosis? this is making my hair fall out like crazy! i finally got my hair to grow in thick because i had issues when i was younger, now i start these obnoxious shots and its falling out all over again! i'm not doing this if its going to continue. nothing in the info i was given listed hair loss as a side effect, but once i searched in on the internet i found all this info. people actually have law suits against the drug company! has anyone taken these shots? and if so what side effects did you experience? thanks!

I just got my 3rd Lupron shot, not having a problem with hairloss. Are you on any other medications that would cause hair loss, I know Elmiron may cause hair loss. The only thing I have gotten from Lupron is hot flashes and swollen breasts. It really hasn't helped my endo, this is going to be my last shot and I will probably be considering the surgery. It also makes me very moody.

I was on Lupron for a bit and these were my symptoms:

Weight gain (30lbs in 3 months)
Hot flashes
Night sweats
Increased bleeding (I bled for 6 weeks straight at one point)
Increased/worsened pain (worst pain in my life!)
Severe anemia from heavy bleeding
High cholesterol
Hair loss
Sleep problems

It’s been more than 18 months since I stopped the drug and I’m just now getting over the side effects. Just a couple months ago the bald spots on the front of my head started filling in. I looked like I had a receding hairline!

I don't know if it will help, but when I lost over half of my hair due to Elmiron and the pain and stress from dealing with IC, I took Fish oil, magnesium and Zinc supplements. I also used Nioxin shampoo treatment which you can find at most salons. The last thing I started using which worked really great was Flaxseed. I still take these supplements, just not the shampoo anymore since my doctor said that they are good to take anyway. My hair stylist is who recommended the Flaxseed. She said that it had helped alot of her clients dealing with chemo.
