Hey guys, my name is Sheena I am from ocean county, NJ. I always come to this board when I am feeling down or stressed or hopeless, and its amazing that I feel I can just pour my heart out and everyone has felt the same way or another at this point because of our IC, and nobody is ever judging you. I am truly so thankful. But i was just wondering if I would find anyone in the state somewhere, around my age, to just be there as a friend and maybe even meet up and do *IC-things* lol! (By that i mean understand that some things are just outta the question because of the pain *examples:drinking, partying, dancing*) anyone interesting in chatting id love it!!! Take care all!

hey trace, sorry you havent heard from me since i got back!! our flight was suppost to leave Sunday at 850am and they delayed it 4 times for "maintenance problems" so we didnt feel so safe getting on that one! We switched to the next availabe flight which was 415 pm and that was delayed till 715 for weather reasons (wind) then they didnt switch our luggage from the first flight, so that was an adventure! todays my bday and my boyfriend said he wants to take me to new york city on the weekend && then next weekend is his bday so i planned a special weekend!........ soo after all that we can plan something hun! hope all is good. let me know<33

I found this post a bit late.
I've got so much catching up to do on these forums.
It's unfortunate I'm so far away from you. I can relate to where you're coming from when it comes to finding friends in this age group to meet up with and do fun things with. This website is great.
I'm on the look-out for new friends as well. I'm living in the Texas area now after moving from Germany.
It can get kind of lonely.
Feel free to message anytime though if you want to chat!

Hi, I have IC and I live in ocean county NJ. My email address is mpizze619@comcast.net if you want to email me and compare notes. Do you go to a DR in ocean county? I haven't found one that deals with IC so I have to go up to Englewood NJ to an IC specialist. I also go to a Pain Management Dr in that area.

if you live in ocean co nj you live near an EXCELLENT urogyn (she just relocated there in jan of 07). unfortunately she's going on maternity leave soon but i would DEFINITELY try to make an appt to see her towards may of 08. i live in northern monmouth and travel almost an hr to see her...since i am not posting anything BAD!!! her name is dr. greenleaf in lakewood-women & children's specialty center. email me for address/phone #.

also, anytime you'd like to get together please email!

Hi,
I wanted to let you all know that I'm in Monmouth County as well, and I already know Tracy. I also go to Dr. Greenleaf, she's been great! I'm a bit busy right now as I commute to NYC daily and I'm planning my wedding. But e-mail me if you ever want to meet up! I'd love to make some more friends who understand what I"m going through and vice versa!

Just to follow up I did make an appt with Dr Greenleaf - I am seeing her in July - I called too late to see her before her maternity leave. I'm very anxious to see what she has to say - I'm so tired of driving 2 hours up north.
Since I last posted I've been hospitalized with seizures - which they have not yet been able to control - what a mess!!!! I had to go off all my IC meds except my elmiron and my Aloe pills but they did put me on the fentenyl patch for the ic pain.

Marie-I'm so sorry that you're going through all that. Do the Dr's think the seizures are from the meds? Have they stopped since you stopped taking them?
I hope Dr. G is able to help you when you go in and see her. She's been a huge help to me!
I'm currently getting bladder instills, which are helping, but I'm still having some flare-ups. I'm getting married in Sept. and I'm scared to take Elmiron b/c of the hair loss side effect. No one want to be a bald bride! I may try it after, but the instills have helped a great deal so far. I need to start taking the aloe again. It was working then wasn't...and I haven't gotten back into the routine of taking them again. I'm also trying a new food every week, so that may be the main reason I'm still having flares. But...it's helping me find me triggers at least.
I hope you start to feel better soon. Let me know if you ever want to get together and complain!!

HI everyone! I haven't been on here in a while... My names Shannon and I'm from Morris County New Jersey and have yet to meet anyone my age (i'm 23) who has IC. I was wondering if any of you goto any of the support groups for IC??

Hi Shannon!
I was diagnosed with IC when I was 25. Looking back, I had my first flare at 16, but it went away quickly. I'm 26 now, and getting bladder instills and physical therapy, and feeling much better. Not perfect...but better. My dr. told me the average age on IC onset that they see is 19-25...so you're not alone! The hardest thing for me is the fact that I can't go out and have a drink with my friends. I feel like I'm 80 years old. :shake:
I haven't been to any groups, but I talk to another girl (Tracy) who has IC and lives near me quite frequently. The support groups I've seen meet during the week which doesn't work out so well for me b/c I commute to NYC. Maybe we could try to set one up on the weekend sometime?!

Hi everyone! I just found this thread and I'm from Somerset County, NJ. Not quite as far down south as the rest of you! And I'm 18, you all seem to be a bit older, but I don't know anyone from around here, or really know anyone at all that has IC, and it would be nice to get to know someone! My IC is not that bad anymore and I have never gotten pain, just frequency and urgency, and flares mostly. So feel free to message me or email me, saralukens@hotmail.com

Hi Shannon, my name is Jessica...I'm from Massachusetts and was diagnosed with IC at 19 (I'm 24 now). I don't know how far away New Jersey is from here..probably somewhat far for driving but I am also looking for people my age to talk to who have been diagnosed with IC, so if you still want a friend, I'm always here to be one!

Hi Shannon,
Just saw your reply...we should try to set something up for a coming weekend. I think it would help to vent to each other...my family is probably sick of hearing it!! Maybe we could go bowling or something non-food related. Write when you get a chance and we'll try to set something up. jenny_bouchard@yahoo.com

Hey guys.. I know i posted this thread a long time ago.. But i was having trouble getting on for awhile and also was feeling alot better for a few months but im back at square one again, miserable. And it would deffinetly help to have some friends who understand. It sucks always feeling alone, I cant really talk to my friends and family that much about how i feel because it is like a burden i feel that all i ever do is complain and talk about it. Maybe you know what I mean.. Feel free to PM me or email me at Xxbaybegurl69xX@aol... Would love to hear from you.. I am 21 from Ocean County
