I received my results in the mail today. They found 50,000-100,000 of Coagulase negative staphylococcus species and enterococcus species.

They listed antibiotics that each is sensitive too, however the enterococcus was not tested for as many antibiotics. Anyone know why this might be?

Also, they listed a MIC , anyone know what this is.

Not sure, but maybe they know that only certain antibs work on that bacteria? Did you know you had a UTI? Had you had the other type of UTI culture and come back negative? Just wondering if you think these bacteria are causing your IC symptoms? Or are an addition to IC?

Well, since getting IC my uro does not send my urine for culture only does the dip stick test. Other labs have found blood, and bacteria(but not enought to grow).... I have lyme disease, so my immune system is just wacked....i think it is allowing this bacteria to take hold in the bladder. Ive tried almost all the treatments for IC, some work for a short time, then im back to baseline all over again.

that makes sense that only certain antis work on enterococcus, could be.
