I feel like my job is making my symptoms worse! I am a supervisor and feel constantly stressed out. I also feel like sitting all day makes it worse. I have found that using the relaxation CDs/DVDs and doing some light yoga and streching helps somewhat. Any other suggestions?

Is it possible for you to get up and stand for a few minutes at a time to get off the sitting position. I find that doing one of any activity for too long increases my pain like crazy. I've been trying to move around a little bit because sitting is also my enemy.

I hope something may come along to help ease your pain and symptoms.

Sitting is really hard on a lot of us. Have you considered the IC cushion? You can order it from the ICN shop. It's specially designed to keep pressure off the area of difficulty.

You'll want to be sure you have a chair that's supporting your back in the right places --- and I agree that an IC pillow is a good idea. And try doing some stretching --- you can even do that sitting at a desk.

Here are some suggestions that help me get through a day...not that I am always a model of following my own rules but hey when I do, they actually do work. I am a supervisor too, the director of nursing for a branch of a nationally known home health care company.

~Definitely a cushion, and mine has an angle on the front to off load the front of my perineal area
~Finding a way at lunch to put my feet up, literally
~My nurses and my boss understand just enough to be sympathetic especially when I'm flaring but don't get too personal
~I take ER pain meds that are Q8H
~Great friends to call and vent to after work
~ sense of humor

I tried the IC Cushion and it did not work for me. In fact, it made my symptoms worse as it tended to pull my clothes tighter in the crotch area. I appreciate all of the suggestions. I do try to do most of these things. I think it is the stress that causes me more tension than anything. Not so sure this job is worth all of the stress it causes me. Not sure what else I want to do though....
