I didn't know that yeast grew in so many different places!
I had felt a lump under my arm and told a nurse I knew. She said not to play with it and make an appointment. I th ought it was just a hair follicle or something similar. Well, it went away the day I had the appointment, but I went anyway thinking that the doc could look at my wound (from bladder removal - the incision opened up about 2 1/2 inches wide and deep - it is now less than the size of a dime!!!)
and let me know if it was progressing well.
I had been itching everywhere on my torso. My friends kept telling me not to scratch which was virtually impossible for me. I tried benadryl and it worked a bit. Anyway, I began to show her the wound site and she said - "You have a yeast infection!" So that's why I was itching. I had a place that was very itchy and very red - so I was putting ointment on it and covering it so that it wouldn't get irritated by clothing. I was generating MORE yeast. I got some tinactin powder to dry the stuff out as well as two doses of Diflucan. Things are much better except when I sweat - and this weather on the east coast is not cooperating. It is staying so warm!
I've had vaginial yeast infections and thrush, but I never thought it would be on my stomach and chest. Learn something every day.
