View Full Version : slow flow?

I was wondering if the following scenario has ever happened to any of you. Yesterday was one of my busiest days ever in my life. I'm a teacher and I went to a special training yesterday, where I went to the bathroom at 9 AM and didn't go again until 4 PM. I started to need to go around 2 PM and held in in for 2 more hours (don't ask me how I did that, I have no idea). When I did go at 4 PM, I had the slowest flow ever. It took ages to come out. I was very surprised because I felt like I would be going buckets at that point.
Then today, I had a another hectic day, I went to the bathroom at 12 noon and held it in until 4 PM. When I went again, it came out like a trickle for a very long time. After I finally was finished, I had a strong pain ripple through and when I got up and went back to work, it went away.
Has this happened to any of you? I'm just wondering why the more frequently I void, the faster it comes out, and when I've held it in for a long time, it's a trickle.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.

All I can think is that perhaps your bladder was a bit distended not allowing urine to flow properly.

Wishing you well...

I can't answer your question, but holding your urine for long period of time is not good..

It sometimes happens to me. It may have to do with the fact that you were tensing your muscles so you could hold it. Once you found the time to go, they had a difficult time relaxing.

Same thing happens to me whenever I hold it too long.

I definitely think my problem was tense muscles. Today I haven't had to hold it in (back to normal schedule) and my urine flow is normal as it usually is.
Thanks again!

I have this problem all the time but especially in the mornings. I used to hold my urine all the time before I knew I had IC.

Are you on OAB meds? That always does it to me (especially the more urine I hold in at a time... a lot for me is 100cc's).
