Lyme Test

I want to get tested for lyme. I called a couple of doctors in my area that deal with lyme and none of them accept insurance. Does anyone know of any docs in Maryland, Virginia or Washington DC that deal with lyme? I'm not even sure what type of doctor you see for lyme. Does someone know this?

Also a year ago I had a spot on my leg that looked like a bruise more than a bulls eye. It was purple and black. It was raised and it it did not feel like a bruise. I'm not sure why but it felt like a bite. I called my family doctor and she dismissed it and told me not to worry about it. I don't remember anything else about it but I remember it was purple and black. Did anyone with lyme ever get this type of marking?

You would have to go see a Lyme specialist. I don't know if we're allowed to post about other sites but have you checked out Lyme net? And/or ILADS? You should see an ILADS (international lyme and associated diseases society) physician if you think you have lyme. They are the most experienced treating it. Type ILADS into google or LymeNet.
