Hello Everyone! :hi: :hi:

Time to restart this thread again. This is my favorite thread on the whole board! I love all of your photos. They are so uplifting and interesting. It's like show and tell and that is so important in keeping these doctors away right? I've got to go back and catch up with the other thread. I started the title of this thread out with part three even though I meant part 4. Woops....

I've enjoyed getting to know all of you and I am honored to be part of this group. I wish I had joined it sooner! You are all so talented, beautiful people who have so much color in your lives.

We can show the world that IC doesn't totally run our lives.

Big Hugs to you all! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Kara

While I was still sound asleep, My Mom came running into my room a yesterday, huffing and puffing, and sputtering for me to throw some shoes on and for this photo. I am calling him Lucky Long Legs. He's here to give us some luck for the upcoming months! We thought you would all appreciate the meaning behind it.

Kara--great shot. Though you now have me sitting here with a case of the creepy crawlies. :D

Jane--still waiting on that new camera to show up? Is the waiting getting intense?.haha ;)

Tracey--you're a funny one! :D

Sharon--:hi:

Sue--you've got some lovely photos from your trip!!
I have to comment on your mention of snow--keep it up there!!! :)

Ronda--yeah, you read the price of those shoes correctly--hence the photo of them still sitting undisturbed on the shelf instead of a pic of them attached to my feet! They're cute though, I have to admit. :)

Kara, I love that photo - aside from the spider, lol, that's one of my favorite mums!!! And it just goes to show great minds think alike -- I too thought about starting a new thread! Glad you did! :)

Diana, yes yes, I know I'm funny, you don't have to remind me....lmao!!

I found these flowers growing in my back yard under some metal roofing
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee47/MoadToad/100_1916.jpg
Kinda cheesy..but this reminds me that even in the darkest conditions, life can still grow and be beautiful
This was a rainbow over my house after a big rain storm

And this one....reminds me of the promise God made. and that there will always be a rainbow at the end of a storm.

I dont know what they are . I just lifted up this mettal roofing thing last summer and there they were. mixed in with weeds and dead grass. it was real amazing to see them growing there like that..no sunlight..no water. its strange that tey were able to grow.

Tracey--what kind of flowers did Moad post? :D

Some wild berries I found growing in my side yard. Didnt notice the spider web until the upload. Its kind of keeping with the theme around here lately....:).......

I loved Karas fall decorating pictures so I thought I would share mine..The first picture I picked out all the decorations and put them together, but if you look at the container it is in I covered it. It was actually an old pickle jug that Doms grandmothers mother once used. His grandmother was so thrilled to see how I made use of it..I wish I would of took a before picture of it..

leelee...Did you paint your walls for Fall? I love the colors of Fall.

D...Ewww...Ppider Web Alert.

On to better things...The Celtic Woman do a song called "The Last Rose of Summer" on their New Journey CD. Meav NI Mhaolchatha does the singing. Try UTube...I think you will find it there...Beautiful, but then what do they sing that is not? I have fallen in love with their music. Their voices are like crystal.

That is an amazing sand castle. I bet they used something besides a plastic shovel and pail...Right?

Did you do the hand painting, leelee?

leelee88
10-12-2007, 09:04 AM
Sharon,

No my colors are just warm colors in the livingroom and foyer area...The Foyer area is like a burnt reddish/clay color and the livingroom is red clay looking color that has been splotched with a cream color so its a lot lighter but still blends well..Hope this make since, if not hey I will just take a picture of the color..lol

And yes Sharon, well kind of yes it was hand painted...The leaves and grapes were done with a sponge stamp thing and the pears, but the vines were hand painted.. Me and Doms mom did the work..Shes such a great MIL..

Ronda are houses are alot alot. kitchen color is different, but the same idea almost. we just bought our first house just over 2 years ago, I am working toward going to college for Interior Decorating. so it has been alot of fun and good practice decorating the house.

Sharon--those sand castles are quite impressive to watch being built. They start out as just a big pile of sand, and within hours, voila'. :)

Moad & Ronda--nice glimpse into y'alls homes. I too am one who likes warm colors, however I dont feel the gumption to paint coming on anytime soon..haha..Feel free, either one of you, to stop by with paint brush/roller in hand! :D

Oh yeah you two - Ronda and Moad - GREAT colors! I just recently have broken free of my "everything must be neutral" mindset, lol. I have a color called Library Red picked out for one wall of my upstairs "den, craft room, maybe someday baby room" room, lol. I can't wait til we get started on it!

I wish I could identify that flower! I at first thought it might be a relative to hepatica, but the petals are different!

:hi: Sharon, love the Celtic Woman CD's, sounds like angels singing. Kara, nice spider shot, hope you were good to it as they are good luck. dg, those are the same mystery berries that appeared at my house under the evergreen trees, I posted a couple of weeks ago. The sandcastle is fantastic, is that on the Atlantic or Pacific coast? Mode isn't it amazing how beautiful plants do everything possible to survive- must be a lesson there.
Today was a good day. Appointment with the URO to see why the interstim was letting me down, leaking badly on the way to the pot. I even increased the impulse number several times in the past week. Seems like after my last programing appt. with the Dr. it got turned off. Not sure how that happen, but all is very good now; and the depression has been lifted.

http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/suebee_photo/SV100338.jpg

The last of this summer flowers which may come to an end tonite as a frost is expected; it's 40 degrees now at 9PM :shake: suebee

Sue--are those berries still a mystery to you? I'm very curious to find out what they are exactly. Theres a arboretum run by VT not too far from me so I'm thinking that I might take a sample to them for identification.
The sand sculptures were here on the Atlantic. There's a sand sculpture contest every year during the last week of the Neptune festival. Sculptors from all over the world participate.

Figured I'd post a few more pics of the sculptures, especially since Sue mentioned the "s" word..haha..They were taken with a point & shoot coupled with having to dodge many people so excuse the quality..:).....

:smile tee Thank you girls for the wonderful sand sculptures. They are so intricate. To think one wave and their gone. So now I've seen sculpture talent from one coast to the other. I watch kite flying at Cannon Beach, OR a few years ago; my daughter lives in Seattle. The sand sculptures remind me of the beautiful ice sculptures I've seen in Alaska.

Wow. What amazing sand castle photos! All of them!

Love everyone's beautiful autumn decorations and the story of the flowers that bloomed basically in the dark was inspiring!

Diana, I got cold feet on buying the camera so I cancelled the order. Now tonight I was again thinking I couldn't live without it so I ordered it again <sheepish grin>. I also ordered a real humdinger of a lens that I can't wait to try out in combination with the new camera. Yes, I've been a bad, bad girl.:evilsmile The only reason my husband isn't pitching a fit is because of my successful selling on Ebay. He knows I can eventually sell enough stuff to pay it off!
Please, the next time I say I have to have something new -throw some cold water on me!
Below is a photo I took a couple of days ago in my home studio. These are some of the decorations we have around the house and I just gathered them together and put them on a black backdrop. I've been taking some photos and putting them on bigstockphoto.com to try to sell some stockphotos. This is one I recently uploaded but it hasn't been approved yet.
Anyway, Happy Fall Y'all!!

Jane, Jane, Jane...:lmao: what are we going to do with you??..hahaha..I tried to throw some "cold water" on you in a subtle way--you either shook it off or never picked up on it..hahaahaha..On a more serious note, I think cancelling your original order gave you time to really decide whether or not you wanted to take the plunge..now you honestly know that you did indeed want that camera..voila', it'll be yours very soon! :). I'm interested now in this "humdinger" of a lens you've bought....do tell!! do tell!!
Lovely picture, btw!! :)

Janie, instead of you looking for somewhere for us to take lessons, I will just take lessons from you! Your photos are amazing. I will email you about rescheduling Mollie's photo session.

We spent the weekend closing our pool (finally), which of course put Mollie in a sad mood. She didn't mind the cold water! I should have taken pictures of her sad face. Last night, she just stood by where she used to go down the stairs into the water and stared. I wish I could read that dog's brain!

I am enjoying everyones pictures so much. Tracey, I am glad to see your Clematis plant. Remember last spring when we were excited about our plants appearing? I have transplanted some more of my irises among other things, and I have written out a "map" as to where things are suppose to come up next year. LOL!

Great sandcastles! I have only seen somebody actually doing that on the beach one time. And it was amazing, not nearly as good as those photos, but still such talent! I watched a show on the Discovery channel about a guy that started doing that who was pretty much a beach bum. He now earns hundreds of thousands of dollars every year doing that for corporation events, etc.

Give me a call.

PS. I made an appointment with Dr. L**g for next month. I know he won't be a great as Ragi (nobody could be) but I figure if he and I can get along at all it will save me a yearly trip to knoxville.

Thanks Sharon and Diana for the kind words on the flower photo. It was one of the first photos I took with the new lens. Moad,

Beautiful Creations! So Vivid! I love your fall decortations too. They look a lot like mine.

Janie,
As usual you have taken my breath away with that flower. I had some of my photos developed for the first time ever. I was so excited to see the detail in them that could not be seen via the computer. I am framing some of them at 8 x 10's for my front Hall.

Sue,

I love that yellow mushroom is it?

Diana,

Awesome sand castles. How COOL!

Tracey,
Are the chipmunks still around? Those flowers are so unique.

I may have a photo of my Father In Law's Simese Kitty after dinner tonight.

Spent the evening at a coffee house last night being entertained by my friend, Bryan. Thought not only would he make a nice subject, so would the coffee roaster....:)...

Sharon--it was quite fun. I had lost contact with the lovely Bryan for several years and just recently reconnected. He used to play with rock bands, however now plays mostly solo and acoustic.

one more from last night. the ilghting was terrible for non-flash photos, hence the quality. However after looking at it a few times I think it kind of works with setting the mood of the venue...haha..I sound kind of snobbish, dont i?..hahaha.....

:smile tee Lovely, sunny day with the leaves really losing their color, and falling. Kara have a good time in Toronto. Saw the Phantom there about 18 years ago, rode the subway which was very clean and safe, walked thru the red light district to get to a McDonalds to ask where the subway entrance was. Boy that was an experience! Wasn't alone, with my husband.
Photos taken this late in the afternoon as the sun was setting and glowing thru the trees.

Wow! That's cool (your kitchen, Leelee). I only got through one part of my wall (above our closet) and gave up! lol

OK -- Hopefully I figured out how to do this, but here's our fall decorating project. My hubby and I are in a rut most weekends because I am usually sick (migraine/TMJ troubles), and the weekend we made this was together time to get my mind off my body. It's a project from the Lowe's calendar. We made it with fake pumpkins, but the Lowe's original had real and the topiary only lasted 5 days that way. Enjoy!

The Ripstick is the latest craze amongst skateboarders. As you can tell, its not set up like a skateboard (Ripstick only has 2 inline wheels) so it takes alot more balance. Do I ride?..ahaha..Yeah, i rode all of maybe 4 ft before falling off. Would I like to ride?-heck yeah, 'cause its loads of fun. Problem is, my husband and chlid think that one of them needs to stay near me with 911 on speed dial for "just incase" insurance.:lmao: The only reason there are pictures of me 'riding' it is because the husband said "the paramedics are going to need pictures of how your legs used to looked prior to mangling yourself on this thing". :lmao:

Sue--I too am liking your autumn colors! We're not experiencing anything nearly as pretty in my area as of yet. Keep posting! :)

I want to go back to that post about Traceann being a flower expert. Wasn't she on the list with us looking for her flowers that were sprouting up last spring and couldn't find them????

Tracey, I just separated my iris bulbs again last weekend. I put a note my journal where I planted them!

dg, your dog is lovely, great halloween spirit. Tara, I'm from Altmar, NY, on the east end of Lake Ontario, about 35 miles south of the Canadian border, you know that snow belt, the old lake effect stuff which could happen any minute. Visitors at the bird feeder, just passing thru the yellow grosbeaks.

http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/suebee_photo/SV101172.jpg

The first time I saw the yellow grosbeak, about 28 years ago, my husband and I thought it was a giant gold finch, which was also at the feeder. :bonk: suebee

Kara, that is so funny. My cat Penny didn't do alot of that. I always said because he was so big, but your cat seemed to manage!!! I could always count on him helping me wrap Christmas presents. Every year there would be a touch of orange hair taped on all of the packages as well as a few holes where he would have to "make bread" on the paper.

D,

If I saw a spider like that I would have wet my pants and given myself a good "shower" if you will.!!!!!!!!!! My Husband used to have one of those for a pet. It's name was Azreal.

Janie

That waterfall looks like glass. So peaceful. It's like how I would like to feel everyday.

It snowed here today but did not accumulate so I have no photos for it. Don't worry give it a few weeks and we will have 9 feet of snow!

My grandmother took this. I don't know if I already posted it. She loves rainbows. This one showed up right over her house and it went all the way down to the ground on both sides. You can't see it in this photo but it was a double rainbow.

http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r115/Karalynnree/th_100_1017.jpg (http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r115/Karalynnree/100_1017.jpg)

EWWWWWW!!!! That is one big, hairy spider. I was talking with a friend of mine at dinner this past Saturday night and she was telling me that they once had a pet Tarantula named Iggy. Now, personally I don't think "pet" and "Tarantula" should be said together nor even in the same conversation, but I did learn one fact that I did not know about them. Those tiny hairs that they have? They can throw them at what they think is attacking them and the hair will make you itch. It seems that those hairs are what makes Itching Powder work.

Janie...I know they gave us a freeze warning but I was surprised at the amount of frost that was on the ground. Good picture, sorta sad though. The first hint that flowers will not be around for much longer.

Kara...Ahhhh Rainbows. What beautiful creations.

dg2901
11-08-2007, 07:45 AM
Sharon--the hair-throwing defense of the tarantula is true. Its generally used in the wild--when approached they'll release the hairs--yeah, a bit creepy and weird..haha..
Theres a local kid who, a couple of years ago, was at a friends hosue "playing" with the friends "pet" tarantula when the spider released its hairs. Unfortunately they ended up in the boys face and eyes, leaving him with permanent eye damage. Some of the hairs are still logged in his eye due to the Dr finding it too risky to remove them--Dr's feels the body will eventually work against them and they'll come out on their own. The Dr stated he removed "hundreds" of hairs.
Its strange, small spiders, like you'd fine in the house or outside/whereever creep me out--tarantulas dont bother me in the least. Perhaps its because they're large enough to be considered a "pet"..:biglaugh:

Yes, Janie, I know the place. I have a cute picture of my older son jumping over that spot in his high school graduation robe.

We had a great spider making his web right by my front door on Halloween night. All the kids kept asking if it was real. The spider was about 1 1/2 inches around. It just steadily worked on his web all evening. I tried to get a picture, but I couldn't keep my arms still enough to make it out. He was gone the next morning, but I noticed last night he had set up house again.

Spiders don't bother me either, but my husband hates them. We have reversed roles in our house when it comes to spiders. I pick them up gently (not with my hand...so don't freak out) unless they are granddaddy long legs and put them outside. While I am doing this, my husband is looking for a shoe.

Tracey, here is another spot that I'm sure you know from the same park :-)

I was never one to be particularly afraid of insects, snakes or anything like that but now that I'm a mommy I'm totally paranoid that Maggie will get bit by a brown recluse or something. Guess those maternal instincts really kick in and make ya protective.

:hi: Janie, the falls and frosty flowers are beautiful. I have the flowers on my desktop now, it's not the first photo of your's I've enjoyed when I turn on the computer! Thanks. dg2901 neat traveling photos, especially the night shot of the bridge. as for the tarantula, I had one placed on my arm in New Mexico on a nature trip; now today if I saw on in my shower I'd call the DEC or someone to remove it; not so brave anymore. Kara, saw a little snow on Wednesday, also, and it's cold enough to still have a dusting in the wood.

That last pic I posted was taken while on vacation in WV; it was at the New River Gorge overlook--well, the steps that lead down to the overlook. I didnt realize how out of focus it is until I got home and uploaded (it very noticeable in larger format).

Janie, love the butterfly arrangement. I have planted several bushes to attract the butterflies, don't think I've seen those. The birds are passing thru on their way south. Saw a fox sparrow digging under the feeders, and a group of yellow grosbeaks this week.

The Pride of America cruise ship (the only cruise ship that flies the American flag) docked at Nauticus. This was its first sailing that was promoted by Live with Regis and Kelly--they filled at different stops along the eastern seaboard. I got up bright and early and ventured down to the terminal to get a glimpse...very impressive I must say.
