View Full Version : IC + depression + rain SUCKS

Just venting... been really having a hard time with my depression and this disease. I have been diagnosed with depression and a laundry list of other psych issues for years and been doing pretty well... well IC decided to come along... I am so much pain and so limited as to what/where I can do/go with this that I am isolating more... NOW it has decided to rain almost everyday, florida rainy season. I know we need it, I know it is the "season". But even the weather guy has noticed more acutal days of rain than usual. I got a wheelchair to help me get out more, but dealing with getting a wheelchair in and out of a car is difficult enough, without trying to do it in a downpour.... so I sit at home... think more about my IC, what I can't do, how much pain I am in, yadda, yadda, yadda:loco:

bad tape that I just am having a hard time get the stop button to stick. I try to shift focus to the better and good things... but just can't quite get there.

hoping that by just venting a bit here that I can get rid of some of it. tired of t.v., tired of video games, not enough concentration (pain) to read right now, dog is sleeping...... :bonk:

Depression sucks, and the things I know to do to get out of it, are just out of my reach at the moment. So I just sit in my bed, in my diaper, as the spasms and pain randomly chose to punctuate my day. Thunder breaks the sounds outside a bit. Call my therapist, get voice mail.... friends are all working.

oh well

Hey kiddo,
Nothing brings me down like a dark, dreary day and pain.
My husband, the optimist feels all cozy and warm on rainny days. I wish I could take after him more.

I am sending warm hugs and prayers your way and know we all have been where you are, and it does indeed get better. Hope tomorrow is sunny and your day much better.

Hey There..
Not all your friends are working..Some of your IC sisters are right here with you. I am just sitting here being bored, wanting to clean house but just cant get motivated to do it. Really feel icky to. The kids are home from school today and they don't seem to want to help they just sit around and complain they are bored. Cant figure out why the schools give them days off.. They called this day (Fair Day) lol Just because there are all kinds of fairs going on. Who cares they can go on weekends, send thier butts to school..lol .. Well I hope you start cheering up soon. I know how depression can really grab hold of us.. Its NO fun..I am here if you need someone to chat with.. Take care (((hugs))))

Thanks both of you... really needed the hugs! :woohoo: The kids sitting around bored brought happy tears to my eyes... my youngest brother-in-law (15) and nephew (13) spent most of their summers with me... since I am home with this... worked out great, they weren't alone too much and neither was I... but OH THOSE DAYS when, yes they'd sit around and complain about nothing to do!!! brought a little laugh to me... when they would pull that on me, I'd offer work detail, even with pay... it cracked me up how quickly they'd remember some summer reading or other thing it was that they suddenly wanted to do. :lmao:

I appreciate my IC friends.

Hey Long Journey,
Glad your spirts were lifted a little. I have to tell you leelee88, you lifted my spirts too! I could have written that post (but just not as funny). My kids are out of school today too! Why don't the teachers just be honest and say "It's a We are Sick of Working" day off! LOL

I am so un movitated too! I should be packing as we are going away for the weekend and here I am!

I hope you continue to improve LJ!

long journey...

I have an idea of a way for you to pass a lot of time. I have been searching for a picture that I posted on the Arts, Crafting & Hobbies Board in the Photo threads. I haven't had any luck finding it, but I have had a lot of fun looking back at all the pictures posted. You can go into those threads and see everything that has been posted over a couple a years.

I have difficulty on rainy days too... just want to pull the covers over my head and stay there all day. My therapist made me a relaxation tape (you can buy them too but this was personalized for me) and that helps a bit. My little sister says I should get a sun lamp. I am really thinking about it.

Oh, and seriously, if you can try to get a blood test done. You might be low on Vitamin D. The body cannot produce it and it is only absorbed from outside sources, mostly the sun. So for some people, vitamin D supplements can help a lot with weather-related symptoms.

I feel your pain, believe me! PM me any time you want to talk.

I'm in Oregon where the rainy season has also begun. Hopefully we will have at least a few sunshiny days soon.

I want summer and I want it now!

Hugs,
Donna

thanks for all the ideas!

I should start a craft. I am an artist by nature, once made my living by it... but when I put a pencil or brush to page these days, nothing comes of it... a craft would have a designated beginning and end and easy to pick up and put down... will do that search.

Thanks everyone else... the internet is wonderful. One can be alone one minute and have a room full of folks the next.
