Have you had this? I can hardly sit. It feels like my entire urethra and vaginal entry is swollen and it hurts. It is even actually swollen under the urethral opening. That makes me think its some kind of gland inflammation. What do you think? What can you do for it? Does this seem like vestibulitis? urethritis? vulvodynia? Have you had this before where the urethral area and inside to the bladder neck feels really sore and irritated? Whats helping you?

I know I dealt with something like that - I remember describing it to my gyno that it felt like someone literally kicked me in the crotch, it was awful. It all felt swollen. I found that a frozen water bottle in an old sock applied to the area helped me greatly. It relieved that feeling quite nicely. My doc mentioned something about "engorgement" and wanted me to keep an eye on it, yeah - like that would be hard to do, lol. Couldn't miss it when it happened. But then, once my bladder started coming under control, that was one of the first "symptoms" to go away, so I never had to go any further with it with my doc. :)

I am going through all this kind of pain also. I went to the doctor last week - I have been getting steroid shots through the vagina into the urethral area for the last few months. I also had traumeel directly injected into the urethra for over a month. I keep telling the doctor that my urethra hurts - she actually held a mirror up for me to see during my last exam that the area that is red, is actually the glands in the vaginal opening. It's just that the inflammation is so bad that if feels like it comes from the urethra. So far nothing has worked to stop the pain. I am seeing another specialist in the office next week who is doing some sort of skin test down there. They are going to see what else they can try. Last week they injected the traumeel directly into the glands - it was horribly painful and unfortunately didn't help. I don't know if maybe they can inject an antibiotic of some sort directly into the area. I keep thinking if we can just get these glands healed, that the rest of my problems will go away! If you google the term "urethral syndrome" that seems to describe my problems to a tee. It is basically considered an infection of the skeins gland - sort of a female prostitous. Anyhow, if something works for me, I'll pass any info along. Hope this helps.

Please ask about Hydroxine..
It will help with the swelling. This is what is causing the pressure feeling, because your bladder gets inflamed and swells. So just like if you had an allergic reaction to something and it swelled up an antihistimine would make the swelling go down, well hydroxine works likes this on your bladder when it becomes irritated and inflamed. I did not start getting any relief from this feeling until I started this medication..I know things work differantly on everyone but this has really helped me..Heres a little more info.. Good luck and I hope you can find relief soon:angel:
