I saw my 3rd Urologist last week, which took me off the antibiotics. He said it wasn’t doing anything because you have sinu-cystitis. Something I never heard of- He told me it’s Intestinal Cystitis. This uro graduated from Vanderbilt and instructed at Stanford. The first two really caused me a lot of problems with all the cipro and levaquin as they told me I had prostatitis.
I had shown up there with a typed detailed paper of how it got started sinusitis followed by a bladder infection “cloudy urine with odor etc.” How at I had a golf ball feeling "that was very painful" that gradually turned into a burning sensation, fever chills. It has reduced in intensity over the course of 6 weeks, but I still get the burning urine later in the day.
I'm new to all of this, so if anyone has some inputs about my condition I would love to hear them. Thanks Michael

:hi: Michael and :welcome: Welcome to the IC Network. I'm sorry you were diagnoised with IC but glad you found us. There is tons of information here. I would suggest starting by looking at the patient handbook. There is a link at the top of the page and asking any questions you have. This website is great for all the information that is available as well as the support.

Hello Michale and :welcome: to the ICN.
I am not familiar with the term sinu-cystitis so I did a google search on it. Most everything I found was about dog and cat cystitis. That doesn't have anything to do with you. :) So I am afraid I am not going to be of much help to you.
Do check the information available to you on this site in the Patient Handbook. Pay special attention to the IC Diet. Many of us have found significant relief from not eating or drinking things that cause irritation in the bladder. I for one have had to give up citrus foods and drinks.

Thank you for writing. After reading some of the horror stories here-I'm happy my IC improved over the last 6 weeks. But it's still a hugh problem for me as I'm a pilot. My symptoms are identical to those of prostatitis. I hope never to go back to the first week-I almost went to the ER, I was really in bad shape. My tummy is still sore from all the antibiotics-of course they tell you not to take them with food.

I looked up as well- Gee a horse, cat, cows, but no humans. I"m sure he was talking about how it came about-but he did list it as IC.
I often wonder if I had it all year. I was having the same fever chills thing off and on for the past 8 months. Is that possible?

:welcome: Michael!!
I totally agree with Christine and Sharon - the Handbook is a fabulous place to start!!! The diet was one of my biggest tools for dealing with the bladder discomfort while I was waiting for my medications to kick in, so I am sure it can be of help!
Well, I know I was suffering with symptoms that started probably in Feb of 2004 - and finally bit the bullet and saw my doc in Sept/Oct of that year, but it was about Nov when it was "official", lol. So, you very well could have been dealing with it etc, as in the beginning for me, it waxed and waned so I had a hard time pinning it down. Seemed every time I'd seen one of my doctors it would be absent at the time, lol. Like it knew...:lmao: But I can honestly say that every time I had a bad day and thought, "ok, that's it! I am calling the doc tomorrow!" It would be better the next day, so I'd put it off again...
It's very nice to meet you and do look forward to seeing you around the boards!!!!

Could that maybe be allergic? Sinu meaning sinuses? Just a thought. I wish you luck.
