Hope everyone is doing well....

May not get many responses here, not everyone gets hives all over thier body for weeks on end!

I have ruled out medications, I don't believe it is food related as I haven't eaten anything new...plus food allergies subside within days. What I am experiencing is all over hives that seem to pop out by the end of the day and drive me crazy at night!!!

'As many have already addressed, I think IC is systemic for most and because I also have Hashimoto Thyroiditis (autoimmune), I think it's all related. IC and the over production of histamine release to the skin, bladder etc., is all the same. That is why benedryl helps relieve the symptoms but not the underlying cause, ugh!!!
Anyway, if anyone has experienced this miserable reaction in thier skin and have advice or any answers, it would be well appreciated!!!!

Thanks in advance, Cora

Sandy had a problem with hives, I don't recall why, but she may be able to give you some info on it when she sees your post.

I have major itching that I take atarax for. I think auto-immune problems cause rashes too. Do you have them all the time or just when your SED rate is elevated? Are you on any steroids? You may try oatmeal or baking soda in a bath at night. Check all your lotions etc for fragrance or artificial colors. I'm extremely chemical sensitive and can only use aveeno lotions and stuff. Since benadryl works you may want to try a combo of diff anti histamines. I have to take 100 mg of atarax along with claritin at night. Zyrtec worked even better with the atarax but insurance won't cover it b/c I don't have "visible" rashes anymore. Auto-immune disorders run in my family and I've been having auto reactions w/no elevated SED rate so I know a little about the subject. I hope this helps. You canPM me if you'd like to talk a little more privately about this.
