I tend to flare majorly when I fly, so my doctor prescribed Atarax for me to take before a flight...something to do with inhibiting mast cells that the air pressure triggers or something. Does anyone else take Atarax for plane flights? I'm not quite sure if I'm supposed to take it the night before I fly or right before I get on the plane.

I would take it about 1/2 hour before getting on the plane. I hope it helps. My current system for plane rides is painkillers and valium.

Atarax is in the same class of drugs as those that are supposed to help with motion sickness. I don't know if that has anything to do with your doctor suggesting it.

I am just happy to see this post. I just got dxed two months ago. My urgency is just now a problem for me. But I have had a special bladder my whole life. I just always thought it was special. Like movie coke casued me to pee a lot. Or planes gave me UTIs. I really thought they did. Now I have noticed if I take a xanex (only a .25) before I get on an d drink water I am sometimes ok. Please share your ideas. As I said for years I thought I got UTI's from planes some how.
