Hi
My husband and I want to have a baby and I was hoping someone could make suggestions for prenatal vitamins. I have not been able to find one that does not bother my bladder. Also, has anyone been able to use fish oils with out flare-ups. Any info regarding IC and pregancy would be helpful.
Thanks!

Of course I am not pregnant, but I take fish oil everyday. I helped me tremendously with getting my hair to grow back after I lost it due to Elmiron. Are you taking the capsules (big...hard to swallow) ones? I didn't take prenatal vitimans with my 2nd. I threw it up everytime because I couldn't manage to eat that much either. He was my bigger than my first and was very healthy. I gained 40+ pounds with my first and 14 with my second and he weighed over 8 pounds and was early. It was such a different preg, that I just knew it was a girl, so when the doctor announced it was a boy. My first words were "I went through that for another boy!". I eventually forgave him!

Good luck with your future pregnancy. I am looking forward to grandkids, but not for at least a couple more years.

I take 4000 mg of fish oil everyday. I think the children's formula with extra folic acid is a great compromise to regular prenatal vitamins.

Good luck to you!

I take a prenatal from Whole Foods called "Simply One." The vits in it are "food based" and it doesn't seem to flare me as bad as normal vitamins.

I know A LOT of women who do the flinstone thing, or who just take folic acid. Talk to your docs. They should be able to help you work something out.

Good luck!

I can't tolerate fish oil or vitamins of any kind. If/when I ever get pregnant I'll have to get all my nutrients through my diet b/c vitamins will just not work with my IC. I have tried all kinds, children's, adult's, taking each vitamin separately (such as just A, just D, just K, and the minerals separately) but every single one had me running for the bathroom.......

hello!

Good luck with getting pregnant. I am taking a prenantal by Rainbow Light which is a fantastic vitamin company and it doesn't irritate my bladder at all. If you just google Rainbow Light Vitamins and search for the one a day prenatal, you will find it. Rainbow Light only uses the most easily absorbed vitamins and minerals which in turn makes less irritation on your bladder becase it isn't excreting so much vitamin waste.

Good luck!

I am currently taking 2 flintstones vitamins daily. They each contain 300 mcg of folic acid, so I felt like that I will probably be okay with that amount. You can also eat foods that contain folic acid as well. Good luck.
