Migraine HELP!!! ? about MS Contin and Fioricet

I have the worst migraine right now! I feel so sick! I do not get migraines that often but when I do they are so bad! I take 15 mg of MS Contin 3X a day with Norco for breakthrough up to 3X a day for IC. The only thing I have for the migraine is a bottle of Fioricet that was given to me months ago. But can I take Fioricet with the MS Contin? There is no way I can call the Dr and ask because they are closed. The Fioricet does not have codeine. It is Tylenol with Caffeine and Butalbital. Should I take it? I have a severe migraine but also having TMJ right now that hurts so bad.

I have no idea but I would either call the dr's answering service and have someone call you back so you can check on it or call a pharmacy and ask the pharmacist what they think.

Go to drugs.com and you can do a drug interaction check. It isn't the same as the dr telling you it is okay but it can tell you if there is any major dangerous side effect from the 3 meds being combined. I use the site alot. It is easy to get around. There is a tab at the top that says durg interaction checker

Call the pharmacist and ask since it's the weekend...I used to take Firocet occasionally for migraines while I was taking oxycontin but that was with my doctor's approval. Better to be safe than sorry, so make sure you check with someone...if you haven't found someone to ask yet, find a 24 hour pharmacy and ask them. The Butalbital is a barbituate .

Not that I am any medical professional at all...but I had a major migrane today and I called the pharamacy and they told me that the MS Contin would not have caused the migrane no will the butabital cause a problem. So I took both after getting soooooo sick with my migrane!!!!
