how/what is done??

I have not had the cyst/hydro in a over a year..what do they do in the procedure?? I have forgotten!! Will any medications be added? How long will i need someone to stay with me? I called the drs office today to ask about something for the pain, but they have not called back yet!! Thanks

I had a hydro/cysto in April and that's probably the only one I will ever have. I went to the out patient surgery center and they gave me the IV and took me back to the OR (speeding things up, this all took awhile of course). All I remember is falling asleep and then waking up in recovery. My uro only distented my bladder and then took a look and took pictures because I requested them. He didn't put anything besides water in my bladder. I woke up in recovery in pain and they gave me something for that. After a little bit they took me back to the place I was before the surgery and they let me pee. They got my IV out, gave me some antibiotics to take home and an rx for vicoden and sent me on my way. I had it done on a Wednesday and had the rest of the week off from work plus Monday. Hubby was around the whole time since I was pretty sore and tired for awhile after mine.

Thanks for going over all of that with me. I had a boyfriend the last time i had it done. The first time i was in terrible pain for 2 months, worse than before i went in. The dr did the 2nd treatment,and i felt better in 2-3 weeks.That was over a year ago. I ask the dr if they would add something for the pain, like lidocain(sp), he said that might be a good idea. The drs office did call me back and told me that they called in Vicodine 5/500. But i told them i already take 10/500's and it is not even helping the pain!! The nurse said she would have to get back with me!!!:mad:
You would think they would read my chart!!!
