I'm 44 Have 2 Grown Girls And Was Blessed With A Little Boy At Almost 42. My Gyn Sent Me To A Uro Because He Thought I Had Ic. The Uro Gave Me The Wonderful Test And Stated He Had Thought I Had A Prolapse Bladder He Thought I Should Have Bladder Lifted And Everything Out. When I Asked At A Later Visit If He Was Sure It Was Not Ic He Stated It Was Difficult To Dx Ic And That He Wasnt Sure. So I'm Back At Square 1...... I Could Swear It Is Ic Because I Have Many Of The Symptoms, Not The Pain But Years Ago I Would Have Very Bad Pain Off And On In My 20s,30s And Than It Seemed To Disappear For Years. Than About A Year Ago It Was Back And Now I Dont Have The Pain But I Have Alot Of Pressure And Strange Feelings In The Bladder Area At First It Was Like Movement Now Its Like Spasuims Very Uncomforable To Where I Feel Like My Bladder Will Just Blow Up. But Not Bad Pain. Some Days Are Ok Other Days For Days On End I'm Uncomforable And I Do Think It Has Something To Do With Diet. I Have Tryed To Take A Multi And It Messes Me Up For Days"i Thought I Was Crasy" Tomatos, beer, lots Of Fruit Or Soda Which I Love. I Also Feel Numbness By My Upper Inner Thighs And Outter Part Of My Front Bottom. As Far As The Prolapse I Can Feel Something Different Way Up Inside. But Its Not Coming Out .theres No Bleeding And There Is Some Small Leakage. I Just Don't Know I Want To Be Comfortable.... Does Anyone Have Ic And Prolapse Together Or Does This Sound More Like Ic. Please Help Does Anyone Have The Strange Very Uncomforable Movement In The Bladder Area.... Thanks Soooo Muchhhh

Sounds like you could also have some PFD Pelvic Floor Dysfuntion.. I know you didnt want to hear that. But that would explain a few of your problems.

What you do about the prolapse would depend on how severe it is and whether it's causing problems for you. I had a severe one --- with bladder very visible in vagina --- and had a problem urinating. I do have a sling. The surgery didn't improve my IC symptoms, but it did get rid of the problem emptying my bladder. It's hard to know what's going on with you. I hope you get some answers soon. It's far easier to deal with a disease if you know what the disease is.

I have both IC and a prolapsed bladder. I'm actually having surgery to have it fixed tomorrow along with a hysterectomy for an enlarged prolapsed uterus. But mine is really bad. its just a few centimeters from coming out. but it does sound alot like the sypmtoms I have I have had it for a few years but didnt know what it was. and it has just gotten worse. but I have found that all the pressure I am feeling is the prolapse. it also causes me to leak. and it does kinda feel like it could blow up.. it feels really swollen. the movement may be spasms..like twitching. I get that. Plus I have IC also. which is why I didnt know I had a prolapse for so long I assumed it was just another LOVELY part of IC. and I dont have a Urologist.. I dont suggest going as long as I have with out one. I would deffinatley make sure that BOTH are checked into again untill YOU feel you have an answer. I hope that helps. :)

I think I may have had IC for a long time, but was never dx. I've had surgery for prolapse three times and each time I had symptoms that I now think were IC, but no one said anything and after I recovered from the surgery I was fine. Well now I am having symptoms again and this time am being treated and tested for IC. I saw my gyn Thursday and he doesn't see any sign of the prolapse returned. Therefore, pressure, pain, frequency etc. must be because of some kind of bladder problem. Please get checked for both and I do hope you find answers to your condition.

I have both and am seeing a urogynecologist next week to see about having the ol bladder lifted to it's rightful position. We are hoping my frequent UTI's will decrease, which aggravate my IC.

Hugs,
Barb:)

ya know i swear it is the ic because i havent eaten tomatos for over a week and i love tomatos feeling better a little discomfort but not all the weird feeling and pressure in the bladder area. i pushed it and ate some tomatos 2 days ago and guess what discomfort is back like you wouldnt beleave.... i'm worried !!!!! i would like to relocate back to my hometown fl yehhhhh. to help take care of my ill father and that would mean leaving my long time job to go into an independent part time bussiness without health insurence at least for a little while so if its prolapse i could be in trouble..... what do you think you guys are the besttttt.

I had surgery once with no insurance and the doctor was very nice. He cut me some slack by offering a discounted price. Oh, it was still expensive, but no where near what they would have charged with insurance. It can be done and I would just be there for my dad if he needed me. That is something you can never replace.

oh no... i plan on being there for my dad... it was just if i didnt get the lift before i went to fl i was sceared that right after i get there"my luck" i would be feeling really bad and not have any choice and have to have the lift and what good would i be to him if i'm in recovery unable to lift him if needed. i'm just hoping that i could hold off for awhile and controll my discomforts untill i'm able to have the surgery again if i even need it.... its so hard to tell if its the bladder ic or just needs to be lifted but,,, i would think that if it is a lift needed than food should not bother the bladder. i dont know... and with a doctor like mine stating he dosnt know and that its hard to dx me with ic that would meen start all over again and thats where i'm running out of time.... should i push for the lift now when i do have insurance and hope i feel better "my dad wont really need my help untill hes out of rehab therapy that buys me time.... do many of you feel better after the lift or if you have ic do you see no real comfort changes after a lift.... i's sorry if i'm not making sense i tend to do this at the end of long day.... thanks for listening to this crazy chiccccc.... :bonk: :bonk:

I didn't know I had IC when I had my bladder "lift", but it sure put me in a flare right before I had the surgery. Once I recovered from the surgery, I was fine for about five years and then it started all over again. Not sure if this helps you to make a decision or not. I would think having your bladder back in it's right place would offer some comfort regardless.

Agape... That is really good to hear that it helped you for so long. I just came home from the hopsital on sunday from having a bladder repair and hysterectomy. I hope I can look forward to those kind of results. Thank you for that. I have a little bit of hope from hearing that :smile tee

thank you sooo much for that hope "1 year would be a dream even" soooo anyone out there has had the lift but had to have it shortly after d/t lifting... i do have a wonderful 2.5 year old son "who is very busy" who does not always understand the words mommy cant hold you.... although, he has been pretty good when mommy states i have a boo booooo i cant lift you.... that does not always work soooo i will try and sit down and hold himmmm. i will tell you this having this problem has made him very attentive to me... he will ask mommy are you ok if he thinks i'm in pain... i dont want him to think i'm always having a bad so i try and hide butttt you know kids they dont miss a trickkkk. sorry about all that extra talk but if anyone has had problems after the lift i would really like to know as well as the good news.... that would be greattt.... thanks so much for listening... this helps me so muchhhh....
