I think I may be in a flare!!! I am having the urgency, frequency, PAIN! Unfortunately I have been unable to take my elmiron for going on about 5 months due to some very nasty side effects. Does anyone have any advice for pain control? I have the pyridium, urelle, elavil but nothing is touching this pain this time! Please help! If you have any advice, it will be greatly appreciated!

Kim,
First of all, always go get checked first for an UTI.. Just to be on the safe side..

I agree with Ronda. You need to check in with your doctor.

I always test negative with the urine dip. My uro sends some to the lab and it (always!)is either staph or strep. Both are really hard to get rid of:cussing: and a culture has to be done to find them. Hope it's not but if it is the sooner you find it the better.

I know what you mean i've been in a bad flare for about two or more weeks the pain is awful. I've been taking lyrica and tramadol which does nothing. The only time i don't feel the pain is when i fall to sleep which isn't for very long because then i have to get up to go to the bathroom. My doctor just started me on Methylpredisolone 4 mg dospak 21's because i called him this week because i could't take it anymore. I have my second instim which has not been working and I'm at my wits end. I have an appointment tomorrow to discuss whats next. I feel like i'm losing it lately.   is all I can do. It is truly a blessing to have this website.
