I was recently diagnosed with IC and my husband and I were planning on having our second child soon. Has anyone been pregnant with IC that can give me some tips or suggestions? My 1st pregnancy was horrible and ended in an emergency c-section so I'm slightly nervous about rought 2.

Hello,
I am pregnant with my 2nd (8 weeks) and I seem to be in remission. I decided not to take meds, but if I need them I can call my doc. I guess remission is common for many who are pregnant with IC.

My doctor told me about 1/3 get much better 1/3 stay the same and 1/3 get worse. There is no real way to know until you try. He told me if was one of the unluck who got worse they can still give you pain medication. Morphine , according to him, is very safe for pregnancy. As far as other meds, he told me I would have to stop my neurontin and elavil. A lot of ppl beliece IC is hormone related because of the changes during menstration and pregnancy. I was just wondering if sex hurts so bad how will I make it through vaginal delivery. He said if I want they can do a scheduled c section because of the IC. I HAD A GREAT PREGNANCY THE FIRST TIME BUT SINCE I had a LEEP I would now be considered high risk.
