I am having a good bit of weight loss and can't figure out why. I am 5'11. Until I had Katie I was always a size 5. After her I became a size 7. Only gained 19lbs during pregnancy. After her I was between 130-140lbs. In the past 2 months I have dropped to 119. Very sickly looking for someone as tall as I am. I don't eat a whole lot but never had. Maybe 1-2 times a day. I am in a very loose fitting size 3. Could it be from being so stressed from being in pain. I have looked online about all my meds and don't see any with a weight loss side effect. I hate being this skinny. I am loosing muscle now. I have always been very athletic and not I look like skin and bones. any ideas of how to put on pounds. I know it is differnt that most ppl who want to loose weight.

When I was being diagnosed and for about a year after diagnosis I lost so much weight my knees and elbows stuck out! I think it was because of the stress and pain. Now I wish I could lose some!

You may need to plan out your diet so you are sure you are eating enough.

When I was at my worst, I was afraid to eat or drink. I was nautious from the constant straining to urinate (didn't know any better). I remember losing 9 pounds in 4 days. I need to lose weight, but not like that.

I would talk with your doctor and maybe a dietitian that knows how to work with the IC diet...

Same here...when I was first diagnosed four years ago I lost 20 lbs in three weeks! I was skinny! This is my second long flare and I've lost about 12 lbs total just because I'm on the ic diet and am not enjoying food nearly as much as I was when I was in remission. Quite honestly, I've had to start drinking vanilla milkshakes just to keep weight ON! Otherwise, I eat all organic and food make from scratch.

I was diagnosed about a month ago & in 5 weeks I have lost 12 pounds (which is alot for me - I'm 5'2" and now weigh about 109) - For me - I know it's the stress, pain and adjustment to the diet -

My doctor indicated it was not unusual for this to happen initially - but if it continues I will be sent to a nutrionist that can work with me on the I.C. diet but make sure I'm getting enough calories -

Sorry your having such a hard time.
