HI Y'all!
I just thought I'd post to see what everyone is doing this Labor Day weekend? Camping? Visting friends? Party? Seeing loved ones? or just vegging?
Mike and I have an annual party on Labor Day weekend and over Easter weekend. So we invited 30 friends over and we're grilling burgers and hotdogs and making a big pot of baked beans. Everyone that comes will bring a dish of something. It's always a lot of fun to get to catch up with friends that you don't get to see very often.
I hope everyone is having a good 3 day weekend.......and hopefully it's painfree!!

Sounds like fun Roxie,
Don't have any plans. My husband an some others are going on a motorcycle ride but I am just not up to it...

We are going to the New Jersey Shore, leaving Sunday morning and staying until the following Saturday.

When we get back, school will finally start! I think we must be the last district in North America to start classes this year...

We're not doing anything. Hubby's uncle had a family reunion yesterday but he didn't want to go so my MIL took Griffin and two of the older kids and that gave us some time alone which was nice. Today I'm going to do some grocery shopping and then I guess I'll call my mother which I haven't talked to either one of them since Tuesday. I doubt that will be a fun conversation but at least my father will be at church so he can't put his two cents in again.

Well it looks like we have to go to Plan B for our party since the weatherman says we'll probably have rain all dang day! :( So we're turning our garage into an Ice House! And we bought a portable grill to use in the doorway of the garage so we can still cook burgers and hotdogs! I won't let the crappy weather ruin our party! Take care all!

HI Kuntry!
I think it's so rotten when reg. businesses stay open on Labor day. Hospitals and nursing homes have to say open......but reg. businesses that are just staying open so they can make more money.....need to close and give their workers the respect they deserve.

I just got even more news about my holiday. I normally work 5pm-1am. I work with two people who rotate at the 5pm-5am slot. Well, one of the girls, who is supposed to work tonight, wont be able to work. Her husband got a new knee last week, and they just rushed him to the ER for possible blood clots. So, that means, I get to work the extra four hours AND I get to do it alone. But I dont mind. The lady Im working for is a gem and she and I are very close. I would do anything for her.

Luckily, I do this all the time, so Im used to it. I work my normal schedule, but I also cover vacations. I got the phone call early this afternoon, so I was able to take a nap. Still makes for a long night tho. I just hope my co worker's husband is ok. That's whats most important.

OH bummer that you have to work so long.....hope the pay is good for that!
Knee surgery can be really bad. My ex had a new knee put in 5 yrs ago and then it broke and he had to have another replacement 3 yrs ago! I hope your friends husband will be ok. Surgery is never a fun thing!

We had nothing planned, but ended up having a wonderful impromptu dinner with some good friends and making smore's around the chiminea. It was a great way to end the weekend. Since I work in education, I hit the ground running tomorow!

My husband and kids went to a BBQ and swim party at one of his work friends houses. While I stayed home and did pre surgery cleaning so my mom doesnt think she has to do it.. cause she will....But I actually didnt mind...I dont like crowds of people I dont know..and it was quiet. so that was my labor day fun!

On Saturday I went to the movie with my BF. We saw The Nanny Diaries. It was really good, pretty funny too.

And Sunday I spent the day at my BFs house. Hung around watched a ton of movies. We grilled pretty much anything we could get out hands on (hot dogs, burgers, the buns, corn, chicken, some kind of beef product). Then went downstairs and watched CSI. I fell asleep in his lap (for about 2 hours) and he ended up falling asleep at some point too. It was a very nice night.

Didn't do a darn thing, most weekends everyone works (husband and kids) on Sunday, my Husband who was off in the morning took me out to breakfast. other than that I did as little as possible. (wash clothes and straighten up the house). Everyone in my family worked yesterday, except me (I work for the State so I get all of the Federal/State Holidays. Yesterday I relaxed and read almost a whole book.

Our labor Day party was fantastic......and it DIDN'T rain during the whole party! Here in Houston it's been raining at the drop of a hat lately and we've been worrying since we planned the party. We wanted to have it outside and grill burgers and hotdogs. So we set up table in the garage and bought a portable grill so we could cook in the garage...just in case of rain. So since it didn't rain after eating everyone was able to grab a chair and sit outside and enjoy the nice weather. It was great!
I hope everyone here.....who did whatever they enjoyed or not.....lol had an ok Labor Day weekend.
