How long does Atarax take to work?

How long does it take to see results from Atarax? I am just getting a script today. I am getting the lowest does. Has anyone had any results from the lowest dose? I hate the morning to start with so I think I need to start small and increase it slowly.

I saw results from atarax almost immediately. I started w/ 50 mg at night and now take 75mg. But I slept through the night the first night and have continued to get better since then.

I started on 10mg lowest dose at night and only thing I noticedis my stomach was not swelling as much, went up to 25mg and it seemed to even work better, and just made me a little tired..Now up to 50mg and can't fall asleep, but when I do I don't want to wake up and only wake up once to pee at night:woohoo: :woohoo: I was going 4 times a night....

I noticed within just a couple of days but I'm still on a very low dose. I skipped the past two night's doses and am not sure if that's why I'm flaring today or if it was the Dove pink body-wash. It hurts to wipe even! I read somewhere in the patient handbook that the Atarax really kicks in about 3 to 4 weeks after you start it. For me it does seem to help the bladder but it's messing with my sleep cycles which is not good.

I tried 10mg of Atarax and my IC symptoms calmed down but I woke up about 2 hours after I took it in a cold sweat with my heart pounding. Then I started with stomach cramps and was up with diarrhea all night. I haven't taken one since.

I noticed an improvement the first night or two. I just slept more soundly. I was on 10mg for over 4 months and not just upped it to 25mg. I do notice more fatigue in the morning with 25mg, but I try to take it earlier in the evening (7-8pm) and that helps with the morning stupor.

I could not live without my Atarax. If I skip a dose, I wake up over 5 times a night and with Atarax, I wake up 1-3 times a night. It is life saver!
