Hi there Bemmer
I have to agree with you about Melbourne being a wonderful place but I am more than a tad biased :lmao: I hope to get to NZ myself one day and now that the kids have grown hopefully we can afford to come over.
I have tried naturopathy which had no effect on me at all and then accupuncture which was very effective after a time but after 2 years, the expense got too much for me.
Currently, I take Endep which has made an amazing difference and the occassional flares I can usually get through with the bicarb soda.
The only other Kiwi I know of here is Silverfern. However, we Aussies are the next best thing :lmao:

thanks heaps for your replys it makes me happy to no that there are possible solutions to this.. and that i have some local support (even if yah are aussies lol)....I live in christchurch which i do love heaps and is big compared to where i was brought up on the westcoast in a town of a population of 5 thousand, everyone new everyone which is not that good..if i waas still living there the whole town would no all my medical probs by now lol.
anyway my freind who lives in melbourne is coming over in three weeks for a mutual freinds wedding so quite excited.. when you were at your worst did you feel like you had no life.... i go to work and thats it...i have just got rid of candida and parasites so have been on that silly diet for yonks, now on to ic diet, one after another (boo hooo). i havnt started ic diet fully, but i definalty dont touch citrus, tomatoes, caffiene, alchohol, onions etc. i bascally eat a non processed diet, lots of vegies etc..as im gluten intolernet and slightly dairy this makes it harder... will have to check out thou if what i am eating is making me flare.. im drinking lots of organic coonut milk (got into this when had candida) wondering if coconut milk is a flare? anyone know.. i may swap to ricemilk to have with my millet porrridge in the morning to see if that helps...arghhhh
so frustrating...i am taking a teasppon of baking soda at night to take the edge of to sleep and is helping. going to order some of the products suggested but not aloe yet as i want to keep some stuff as a back up in case what i take dosnt work..im also taking colostrum and probiotics and im going to start on fish oil (checked for mercury and toxins etc)....anyway thansk guys..im of to to do a energy healing course today (im into all this heal, universe stuff as well)....anyway take care...bemmer. will chat soon

im taking colostrum etc mainly for my guthealth.....as i am now completly candida and parasite free and want to stay that way.....i have mentioned before about a natural healer i am seeing who is amazing he has been in the field for 30 years and nos everyhting from accupunture, herbals, chinese medicine. homepathic, you name it. anyway he assures me that he will get me fixed.. so far he has done this for me
got rid of all candida and parasites
fixed numerous vitamin/mineral inbalances
fixed all my maridians that were out of whack
got rid of itching skin
fixed thyroid, endocrine system, hormones and removed heavy mercury posioning
he is now onto my spleen which is completely stuffed to say the least....he told me its on fire. he believes that this according to chinese medicine is what is causing my ic as it has something to do with water, cant remember and the spleen also effects digestion(mine anit that good) etc.......he is giving mestuff that he said no one in all of the country would ever think of giving me (trust me if i hadnt found him i would be on may way out, i was that bad). he is from sweeden and uses miridain stress testing and then tests you with what homepathic remedy you need for how long and how many drops........he is the only person after three years to get rid of my candida and parsites (i had tried everyhting including starving to death) homepathic remedies rock.............the best thing is that he wont give up on me and i have complete faith in him...........i am on stuff for the next month for the spleen and will let everyone no if it helps with my ic and vulvodynia.....cheers......
so all im on is homepathic stuff
colostrum
one probiotic a day
manuka honey (highly anti viral, bacterail and antifungal) oh and so yummy
ionic liquid minerals (utah salt lake with sodium removed) best product ever
im also taking calcium but im going to change this to calcium citrate as i heard that it is great for vulovdynia (helps remove oxalates)
going to look in to low oxlate diet with ic diet kind of mixed together but not going to get to obssesive about it all.........especially when i dont belive that food is the issue but rather a temporay messure to reduce pain (beleive this is good) but i dont want to freak out about having a peice of something accidently.....thats life.......anyway i will keep you guys informed......wish me luckkkkkkkkkkk

Hey there Beemer,
Glad to hear you've found help and that it's WORKING! Always, love a happy ending, I think finding help for this illness is half the journey but when it helps, and you actually feel better, that's glory! I'm sure that's how some of us, who are feeling better or have recovered would feel.
Colostrum, didn't irritate your bladder?
What's the CFU count for your probiotic.
I really like that he won't give up on you, I know alots of doctors do.
I'm thinking of trying Colostrum, but I've seen some people say, the pill form gave them some problem so I guess I'm abit hesistant. I'll have to try it one way or another. I'm currently on antibiotics, that's my main treatment. I have also increased my probiotic intake from 12 billion CFU a day to 36 billion CFU a day. I intend to buy, three strains of each L and B bacteria, and reach 40 billion CFU a day, it was suggested by a Nauropath. Especially, because I'm on antibiotic, it'll benefit me.
I plan to add Colostrum, I'm told this combination is good. I guess I'll see how that goes.....
Good luck with your treatment.

no colostrum dosnt appear to make me flare........colostrum takes quite a long time to notice benefits its not an overnight i feel better kindoff thing...im taking the colostrum powder (in capsules) it 100% colostrum and also contains 8% lactoferin........i wouldnt touch colostrum tablets, cant imagine them working very well.. im taking two capsules twice a day. im taking naturesway primadophililus reuteri enteric coated probiotics. they only have 5 billion but because they are eniric coated...........oh sh$^%*^$$$
reading the back and it contains ascorbic acid..........oh my good i never relised. bummer now i have to find another.........oh man why do they put this stuff into everything..........will have to hunt down someother stuff...they make it in powder to i think hopefully that wont have the ascobic acid...i really want the reuteri strain as its so beneficial. i ahve been reading heaps of research on internet and now im freaking that i have a nerve problem causing my vuvldynia as my picture fits this.......ie achy pain inprivates, in bottom checks and back of legs.......hmm really freaking sometimes to much knowledge is not good........;lucky i have got a great Nd who does accupunture and chiro if im right also he is used to me bringing in info on things i think i have got........i thought i had a hatial hernia and took all this stuff in related to my digestion issues.......of couse he tested me and nope dont have it.........rather probly caused by my inflamed spleen as that effects digestion.........

That is strange, I've read stuff like how Colostrum works in a couple days, you'll not notice pain and stuff, and maybe three months should show some significant improvement.
Grrrr, Colostrum is so expensive......and they're selling this in 100grams tiny bottle....I want the ones from New Zealand, they're the best kind.
I didn't understand this "........i wouldnt touch colostrum tablets, cant imagine them working very well.. im taking two capsules twice a day."
You wouldn't touch but you're taking them?
I saw a probiotic Florasmart, it contain good strains and 12 billion CFU per capsule, but it had I think tumeric and other stuff in it. I hate when you're looking for one thing and they add everything else.
The Colostrum you mentioned, doesn't sound like 100% since it contains Lactoferin. I need to read up more on Lactoferin.
I see some Colostrum, with milk powder added....skim milk powder too...jeez.
Too much knowledge is overpowering and you start to loose direction, which way to head, in other words, which product to try lol
Don't really know much about the reuteri strain. Have you looked into a product called FemDophilus or something like that? It's special strains just for females and urogential problems, I haven't checked it out but was told.

i use NZ colostrum its called Relief colostrum and it is pure colostrum.the lacterfirin is something that is even more potent and is also from the premilk fuilds of cows.....releif colstrum it think also export and its pure colostrum and lacterirrin with no fillers at all, ie not skim milk powder etc.....they reason why i said not to touch tablets is because they would have to use fillers to make the tablets and why pay for fillers when all you want is pure colostrum........i will look into that probiotic thanks......i emailed my chiropratic guy today......got no sleep form pains in legs, bottom, groin, feet etc...im am definalty thinking nerve related as i also get buring skin over body which is often linked to nerve probls..im thinking the nerve that runs along pelvic area which effects throu the groin and can cause ic type stuff, vulodynia etc..........if it is nerve stuff at least i would no,,,,,better than not noing whats going on.........argh oh to be healhty and living a normal life,i feel like im a hermit, go to work come home go to work come home.....i just cant manage anything else......at least i have improved in some areas thanks to LB.anyway catch yah later.

[Quote] I didn't understand this "........i wouldnt touch colostrum tablets, cant imagine them working very well.. im taking two capsules twice a day."
You wouldn't touch but you're taking them? [Unquote]
I guess you mentioned colostrum TABLETS and CAPSULES as two different things. Because, if you said you wouldn't touch them, then I was confused why you're taking them.
I'm looking for the pure powder form, and I don't want Lactoferrin in it either, I read up on it, from the Relief Colostrum side, have seen it before. But, just don't want to buy it without complete confidence, since I haven't seen Lactoferrin mentioned elsewhere yet...
What does LB mean?
Sounds really painful, that thing you described. I hope he gives you something soon, to ease with the pain. Are you on any pain medication?
I haven't been sleeping very well, I have to pee.....I have pain too just not terrible pain and my period finally came, two weeks late, halleujuah, I was worrying alot and I don't have that crazy period period anymore, well till next time lol.
I don't go anywhere really ....I'm cooped up inside the house...especially during my period, I feel awful...I've gone places before...but I don't know, I feel so depressed with finding something to help me and my computer is messing up when I am trying to sign in sites to buy some herbs, it's all frustrating.
Let me know how it all goes...

:woohoo: Saw your thread - I know it's from '07 but was happy to see an other NZer here. I am in a major flare and my gp is just useless. I had a MSU test last week - tests came back inconclusive so had to wait an other whole week b4 I got to do an other test and am still waiting for results! It's so stressful as I have 3 kidlets keeping me on my toes, am on the loo 24/7, am not sleeping well as I am up 20 times a night and am popping pain pills to get me thru the day!! Hardly a life is it?
I have decided I don't care how much it costs I NEED to go on Elmiron. Was on it for a while years ago and it worked like a charm for me. My gp just says it is not available in NZ. Do you know how to go about getting it here? Have you been successful? Would love to hear from you.
Have only lived in NZ for 3 years but have found the health system slightly lacking in some areas! Otherwise happy and settled and loving it here.
