Does anybody know anything about how to tell if I have an infection or not? I have a low fever, 99.4, low back pain that has moved to my upper right side and of course the usual urinary symptoms. Im nauseous,and this has been going on for about a week. I went to my doctor and he did say that I have nitrates(?) in my urine that may be a coincidental infection but that it would take 72 hours to get back the results. That was Thursday, I tried to call my doctor but there is no answering service to get a hold of an on-call doctor. I know that I could go get it checked at the ER, but the ers around here take aroun 8 hours to get in and out of. Any advice please? Maybe this is not in the right place but Im not sure where to put it.
