I just got back from my Uro-gyn appt and he was happy to hear that I've been feeling better with the IC diet. He said don't expect any benefit from the Elmiron for another month or two at the earliest. He said try to reduce the dose and take on an empty stomach and slowly work my way up if I can but it's okay to take it with food if I have to. He saw my name on the chart and was so scared that I'd be feeling worse. He said I made his weekend to hear that I'm feeling a bit better at least. He thinks I should try another Heparin instill in a few weeks so I've scheduled another one for 9/21 which is a Friday afternoon. He said if it doesn't flare me then we'll try them 3 times a week again. If it does flare me then we'll forget about them. He said my urethra may be too inflammed to handle them. I asked him about steroid instills to reduce inflammation and he didn't know anything about them although I bet if I can copy some information about it from the site that he'd be willing to read it and consider it. He highly recommends this website. He thinks I should be able to add some foods back into my diet once the Elmiron kicks in so that gave me some hope but I know I'm nowhere near out of the woods yet. :hi:
