I had an MRI test done and got my results back yesterday. It found my fibrous dysplasia in my right femur with I already knew about but what is really strange is the bleeding in my butt muscle. Here is what is said:
There is a mild amount of nonspecific soft tissue nodularity and edema superficial/adjacent to the right gluteus maximus muscle best seen on series 10 image 31. This is also seen on series 9 image 29. There appears to be a feeding vessel into this region. This may be secondary to a hemangioma or possibly a muscle strain/hematoma. The region measures approx. 3 x 2 x 1 cm (cranial/caudal, medial/lateral, anterior/posterior) The region does enhance on the postcontrast images. An ultrasound of the region may be of benefit or if clinically indicated soft tissue diagnoses. Impressions: Nonspecific region of enhancing soft tissue nodularity and edema adjacent to the right gluteus maximus muscle in the subcutaneous fat. This may be secondary to a hemangioma or possibly muscle strain/hematoma. An ultrasound of the region may be of benefit. Clinical correlation and followup of this region may be of benefit. Changes consistent patient's history of fibrous dysplasia in the right proximal femur.
The urologist said he does not think it is anything to worry about but he wants me to follow up with my family doctor just to be sure. He said it could be from a fall that I had. I can't remember falling on my butt cheek. I have no butt whatsoever so maybe I did fall and it caused a deep bruise. I hope that is all it is. I don't need anything else to have to worry about.
Thanks for letting me put this out there. Just need some reassurance.
