Probably not the place to put this but I really didn't know where ....
My boss came to me yesterday, and asked me about my IC as she is having problems and wanted to know the symptoms so we sat and talked about it. She said she had some of the signs but not all. The doctor said that the last time she went to him he said she had on overactive bladder. She also ask what test/procedures that I had and I told her it was so long ago that I couldn't even tell her (almost 19 years) but now they can probably dx her within a few visits. She went back to the doctor this morning and I told her to get a referral to a Uro - one that treats IC if she can. I told her I wouldn't wish this on my worst friend. She sees me with this every day & wonders how I come to work, (I have my good days/bad days) but I am always here). Anyway, I wished her well.

I sure hope she does not have IC. No one should. I bet she is a bit more understanding with what you go through...day in and day out.

MY boss came back in and said the doctor said she doesn't believe that she has IC; that she has an overactive bladder and some other bladder issues. Gave her some medication and a referral to a Urologist.

That's so weird that you brought this up. I have a new girl at work and she heard me talking about my bladder and asked about my problems. She said that sometimes after sex she has a really painful bladder for about a day and then it stops, I told her it could be IC and to get it checked out.

At least she has some empathy as to what you go threw then.

Several coworkers have come to me since I got IC. One said she thought she had the same thing, went to her doctor & was diagnosed. Another says her doctor said she had a bladder with "thin walls" & follows a very mild diet. One of my coworkers does not drink sodas, coffee or tea, says they make her pee about every 15 minutes. And another colleague came to me because her best friend has IC & had run out of treatment options, I gave her a list of possibilities & her friend tried some, is now in complete remission. (Dang, wish I could do that for myself!) I think it's more common than we know.

You guys continue to impress me. I have to admit: I'm really humiliated by this being a bladder condition. I tend to tell my intimate friends that it's a "pelvic pain condition", which somehow sounds sexier than bladder.

It's actually refreshing that people come forward with their issues to you all. I sometimes think the whole world is revolving around me feeling 100% and having perfect sex 24/7. It's just not the reality.
