Hello all, Well just wanted to share that I had my 1st DMSO today .The nurse was great and the cath sucked. I have a latex allergy so the hospital only had a size 16 cath that was latex free OUCH!:cussing: So need Doc to fax a script for the next install, He also was sweet and on my request reduced the DMSO to 25 % instead of 50 % because I was so scarred of this stuff. So far no smell or bad taste , but its only been 6 hours. No pain or frequency. I could only hold it in for 15 min . But better than nothing. Hope all is well with everyone .Hugs Sandra:cat: :cat: :cat:

Well that's great Sandra. I did 50% solution the first time because I didn't know it should be reduced to 25% solution and I did 25% for the other 5 that I had done. I had a lot of discomfort. I don't know that I would say I had pain but I felt really achy, like I had the flu just in my pelvis. I hope they work for you, I felt a little better for about 3 days after my 6th one but that was it, surely not worth what I went through to get that 3 days of marginal relief. Good luck with them!

From all the DMSO I have had, I never smelled like garlic at all. I can only hold it in 10-15 minutes because it burns. I only taste a little garlic at soon after the instill, but that is only a small taste and then it goes away.

Whenever I had the DMSO done, people said that I smelled like garlic, of course, I never did smell it. Of the 3 tries that I went thru with the treatments 2 were helpful--even put me in remission for over 5 years!! and the last one that I had which was about a year ago, it was so PAINFUL that I didn't want to go thru the 2nd one, but I made it thru I think 4 of them - they didn't help me thru. That is not to say of course, it will not help you, as we are all different. Good luck to you. The good thing out of all of this that everytime I had this done, my husband brought dinner home- as he knew I was in pain (or so he thought I was, and I wasn't going to tell him different--hey, I'm no dummy!!)

I am glad you are feeling better. I hate getting the DMSO because it still burns so much no sooner it gets in.
