Hi,
When I posted about Fluid Resin Cultures, I assumed that everyone would have easy access to one. I've since discovered that's not the case. I did know that enterococcus has become the 2nd leading cause of UTIs , and there had to be other cultures available. I was looking through my old records and came across a Quest Culture from 1996 that isolated Enterococcus. I couldn't get through to Quest, but someone else did. This is what was discovered. Quest offers a urine culture that you won't find on their standard list of tests. They have a test called Culture, Urine, Special: Test Code 3021. It has microbial isolation & susceptibility testing. It picks up gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria to include MRSA, enterococcus, klebsiella and more. Cultures are expensive and I know most people would like an accurate culture that could be ordered by their doctor. I'm really happy that someone was able to find this information and share it with me. Debbie
