Zane is only 20 months. Does it happen early? If it does I hope it ends quicker. He's trying to put things in the sockets, smacking us on the face, biting, need I come up with more??
Nothing stops him. Why did I buy those plastic socket protectors if he can take them off?
What kills me is when he's kicking and the foot hits my bladder. I'm going to go gray before I turn 28!!
Moms, I need any advice. We've tried EVERYTHING..
Maybe they sell straight jackets for toddlers on ebay!!?? LOL. :p

My kids started at about 17 months. My youngest, Matthew, has been particularly trying. He'll be 3 in February, thank the Lord!!!!

He hasn't been physically aggressive, but he does everything else. lmao We ended up putting a gate up at his bedroom door and putting him in there promptly when he misbehaved. We only leave him in there for about 2 or 3 minutes, but he does not like it. It typically does the trick.

We also try to teach him that good behavior makes something happen QUICKER. His big thing is screaming. LOUD. scream We would either give him the polite words that he could be saying instead, such as, "You would like JUICE, please?" and try to get him to imitate that. When he was teeny he often wouldn't imitate, but would try. We shortened it to "please" or "juice" to give him an alternative to a scream.

Then, if they do try to say it or even stop hitting or screaming, you give them whatever it is quick as a flash. They learn that if they behave appropriately or try to say it politely, they get it much faster than screaming or hitting, etc.

Now that was still a problem when it was something he could not have no matter how polite he was. That was always fun b/c he couldn't understand. He would have this look like, "I am being polite, why am I not getting this....?" lmao

Mainly, we tried that stuff and then held on for dear life. This child has tested us in every way. As he neared the 2 and a half mark it eased, but he is still an intense little dude.

Good luck! I hear you on the straight jacket. LOL

Hugs and sanity,

Yep, some days I feel like our 2 year old is in charge. It was a shocker b/c our first one was sooooo well behaved and we were soooo convinced it was our stellar parenting. Along came child #2.... lmao
