I have been taking Proced for almost a week now. I see a little difference, but not the cost of the meds difference. Can anyone tell me if it takes a while for this type med to start being effective? I also get quite sick to my stomach with it, but I have learned to eat a piece of bread when I take it with a full glass of water. That problem has improved. I definitely can't take Pyridium or anything in that class. The reason I was put on Proced was because of my waking up in the middle of the night with my bladder feeling like it's on fire and I feel like I am peeing glass. I have none of these symptoms during the day.
Thanks, Tracey

I haven't had a response, but I just wanted to let y'all know that I had to hold my bladder for way too long today and I was so dreading going to the bathroom. Even though I normally don't have problems during the day, I go to the bathroom when I need to and I don't have that after emptying spasms. We were held up in traffic coming back from lunch. I was in a hurry and didn't go potty at the restaurant (bad idea). Anyway, I really had to go when I got back to work. I actually (Peed like a racehorse) then afterwards I didn't have much spasms at all. I still took a Tramadol since I was a little sore and didn't want it to get worse. Maybe that little expensive blue pill is starting to work after all! Now, lets see how the night goes.

Sorry, I just don't know anything about it. I hope it keeps helping! Interesting that you felt better after the big pee -- maybe you should be drinking more water?

I was given that after my last Hydro, I was told only to take when needed and since it cost me $50 each refill, I only take it about twice a week at night. It also upsets my stomach. I really have better luck with Pyridium, no side effects other than being sure I take my contacts out. It will stain them.

I have now been on the Proced for a little more than 2 weeks. It seems to be working better than anything else I have taken and it doesn't make me sick to my stomach anymore. I thought I would just take 2 a day instead of the 4 a day since my bladder mainly hurts at night (burning), but I have found that taking it as prescribed (thank goodness no side effects) it is doing better.
I just noticed the post from Berkshire. I have to drink 8 ounces of water with each pill, plus I drink at least 8 ounces every hour due to the fact that if I don't my bladder burns even worse. At least with taking this Proced, I am not sitting on the potty for a long time, then ending up in a warm bath just to empty my bladder in the middle of the night. Before the Proced, it was as if I was peeing shards of ice. The only reasoning I had in my mind for this was that I was sleeping for about 4 hours straight due to my night meds to help me sleep, so when my pain meds wore off (after 4 hours) I was waking up in intense pain. Neurontin, Lyrica, Topamax, etc have not helped wit this pain. My doctor started me on Proced the begining of August. I wasn't having the terrible side effects like on the other nerve meds (memory loss, nervousness, irrititability or as my family says MEAN) and other effects that I just couldn't work through since they wouldn't go away such as horrible dreams.
After the first week or so, I just wasn't seeing enough relief to justify the cost of the meds for Proced, but I finally feel like I am getting more relief than anything else. I am still waking up after 4 hours, but on most nights, I am able to get back to sleep after I empty my bladder and my pain meds settled down my spasms. This is definitely better than I was for several years with not being able to sleep much at all due to the freq/urg and pain even though I was taking several kinds of meds everynight.
