I wanted to post with an update, it's now been over a year since I found the right birth control pill for me & I am loving it:smile tee It was a very long journey to get to this point however I'm glad I'm finally here!! I encourage everyone to educate yourselves as much as you can, I spent a year & half reading every book I could get my hands on & using my own instincts. I've been through 3 fertility specialists that kept telling me my hormones were fine & that I was depressed which couldn't have been farther from the truth. NONE of them were willing to test the Estrogen & Progesterone either.

I had alcohol (wine coolers) for the 1st time in April 2007, I was nervous since I hadn't had anything in probably 6 years or so. I was very happily surprised when I didn't react in any way when I drank it!

Please send my your story. I have very severe IC. I urinate 70x/day and constant bladder pain. I've tried everything. Thus far prayers, physical therapy,and moderate excercise have helped. Just started with lupron injections last month and seems to be reducing my endometriosis and accompanying pelvic pain.

Ok folks, I got the story and it does give some good hints (I especially appreciated the site about hormone testing), but beware that it also has a bit of a sales pitch feel to it for Shaklee products and such. No offense to Jen. I appreciate her sharing her story.

Agreed. I tried the Shaklee GLA product. It's mostly just borage oil, which is considered less easily assimilated by the body than Primrose oil, for instance.

I was, however, glad to hear about hormone testing, something I will pursue!

Hi Jen,

I have too much estrogen (have uterine hyplerplaisia) and noticed your note said that you were tested for hormone levels of progesterone and estrogen.
Is this what was caused your ic? Were they out of balance or did you have too much? And did taking birth control pills control it?
